Do you guys think its easier to sell a car thats modded versus a bone stock one?

I'm thinking of taking off all my parts and trying to sell it 'stock'. Or am I more likely to sell it with mods, such as exhuast, coilovers, wheels?

it depends. if its CLEAN STOCK or POS STOCK.. usually some people are willing to pay over $3K for an S13 as long as its super mint..

and for the after market, depends what you have, you can spend a few days to take off you suspension or what not, and maybe you can get more money..

for instance, i was tryin to sell my civic for $3500 with skunk2 coils w/ AGX, lip kit, etc (JDM EXTERIOR) but i decided to take the aftermarket parts off, and i sold the car for $3300 and sold my parts for another $1000...

selling a car stock you'd have MORE people to come take a look at it, sellin it modded, well its jst the once who knows whats up..

you also got to understand your dealing with a old ass car that doesnt really have a return for putting money into

You'll have more people who maybe interested if you go back to stock status. If its modded, only a certain crowd that will be interested. Plus others may say well since its modded means it was abused, which most likely mean less money for you.

My 2 cents.....

this, most ppl hate fucking with some one elses project. B/c its so hard to figure out what some ppl were up too b/c they have no idea what they are doing.

but there are times when ppl want atleast a few things on the car already. (COILS, wheels...etc easy stuff)

lightly modded can probably return similiar to stock value, such as coilovers, or a motor. but if u start having like lists and lists of aftermarket parts and unless the perfect buyer comes around... it's always beneficial to part out.

this is the case for bikes, cars, toys, hobbies, whatever.

i've had to part out my old integra and two track bikes. if u have the patience and drive to ship individual things, and aren't dying for the money, parting is the way to go!

I never understood this - I would rather have the car modded the day I drive it home & sell off things I change my mind about or upgrade later.

modded in 240 speak usually means cheap-as-parts
I personally prefer stock cars
when I read a sellers mod list and start seeing Megan, Godspeed, Rota, etc
makes me want the car less and less
modded cars worth buying are few and usually well out of price point of the typical 240 buyer

Stock Stock Stock listen to everyone here.. people would like to do their own modding if any imo youll get alot more attention if its stock, they would prefer to pay less than upgrade on their own with their own ideas too

and plus everytime i see a stock 240 that looks clean i have a better feeling it has been taken care of more then a clean modded car

Thanks for the responses guys. I kind of figured that if you want to get the most $$$ back out then its best to sell your aftermarket parts separately.

I'm thinking about just selling it with coilovers and nothing else. But there new Megan Tracks so I don't think its a real 'turn' off for buyers.
