i think the hatch looks better. but either one would be a great choice.

Damn, i hated the hatchbacks. STi's look A LOT better in 4 door version. I see the blue with the gold bbs rims everyday. That thing is stock but it just looks so nice. Definitly a car that i would like to own. Good job subaru, their next car is coming soon (toyobaru) and it'll be their first RWD if im not mistaken, anxiuos to see what the subaru one will be like

Doesn't seem to be a huge difference from the '10 model.

It really would benefit to have more power to compete with it's competitors.
something AWD w/ 4.9 secs 0-60 @ $34k isn't exactly something to brag about today.
(doesn't the WRX perform about the same in this respect w/ even less power?)
Hope they would do something about the eerie super-light & quick steering feel.
Price is also a concern, as even @ 34k base it's going to be tough to justify.
Maybe lease specials would help out.

Good job on the suspension adjustments to dial out under-steer and stiffen things up.
STi's suspension always was a little too soft for me personally.

I prefer the sedan over the hatch.
I just fancy the aesthetics and nothing else.
another 3mph top speed is negligible at best for practical or even most track purposes imo.

the 7:55 wasnt in a production Sti though.

the only real questionable is always the tires.

i say that wrx sti is a closed production car. it would be silly not to transfer all that trials/data to the final production sti. why spend the energy/money to get a measly 7:55?

VROOOM

it had a turbo from a special edition STi and some different bodywork.

http://www.tsikot.com/tag/runs/

According to reports, the vehicle used in this testing was equipped with a few significant upgrades including a larger turbocharger that normally sees duty in the Japanese R205 model and some lightweight aluminum bits, but one thing is for certain: the 7:55 lap time is a mighty impressive result.

I think the hatch is cooler than the sedan now, just ask brian O'Connor.

but seriously that sedan is uggo.

That car looks confused, the front doesn't match the rear at all, and that wing is brutal...

The hatch was starting to grow on me after my friend bought a newer STI. That doesn't look to hot...

I hated this car when it came out...until the widebody sedan was released. Now I'm sold. The WRX Widebody is such a bargain for the performance.

I think the Sti hatch and Evo look good. the Sti sedan just doesnt flow at all. the rear fender flares look nasty, the front end is so high off the ground and the wing just doesnt fit(although the Evo looks better without a wing too)

2009 Subaru Impreza WRX

In response to criticism that the new 2008 WRX was too soft, some changes were made for the 2009 model year. The EJ25 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_EJ_engine) received a boost of 41 horsepower (31 kW) and 18 lb·ft (24 N·m) of torque, bringing the total output to 265 bhp (198 kW; 269 PS) and 244 lb·ft (331 N·m) of torque by swapping the previous TD04 turbo to an IHI VF52. This WRX is capable of 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds and a standing 1/4 mile in 13.5 seconds at 102 mph (164 km/h)

according to wiki and car and driver, 2009 model was doing 0-60 in 4.7?and it was just wrx?????

i hated the hatch but this looks much worse than the hatch. doesn't the rear end look like a hatch but than a little trunk poking out with a huge wing! i dont see this improving times in wrc which is the main reason behind the style and innovation.

I disagree, I think subtlety in these cars don't work at all.
The more obnoxious the better (i.e big wing, gold brembos, etc).
Evo without a wing just doesn't seem right at all imo.

Exactly, these cars evoke images of all terrain/conditions WRC monsters
refinement and elegance aren't their selling points
hatch all the way for me

I like the new sadan looks way better than the ugly hatch imo, now they just need to do something about that hatch front end :barf:
