i left my car with dome light on for a week and found out cant start, there wasnt any power at all. i use jumper cable to crank and it was working but when i take the jumper cables out and turn off ,it wont turn on again.
i took out the battery and bring to autozone and they said its low but somehow autozone cant recharge my odyssey pc680 .
i was wondering if :
--the alternator problem bc im assuming that i hook the battery with other car and leave it for about 10mnts and still no power after i turn it off and turn back on
--odyssey battery just bad (bought it last year)
or anybody has different idea
im ordering an odyssey charger 6a its on the way now but if i hv alternator issue does anybody knows that alternator from sr20 blacktop is the same with 95 nissan sentra se-r?
any help would be appreciated and please negative comments here.thanks a lot

you drained it. and that battery is not worth it to buy another one. the cranking amps suck in those batteries. for the last couple of years i went through 3 of them less then a each goes out and drained.
if i were you relocate the battery to the trunk.

Trust me when i say that Odyssey sucks ass. And i would never EVER run that cell even in my track car. They are notoriously unreliable at the track.
I don't use large cells, so i only vouch for what i use which is Braille.

Go thru your electrical system, or have someone do it for you to see if you have any shorts.

I have an Optima Yellowtop... best battery ive used yet, although Ive never owned a Braille.
I can play my stereo (2 amps, 1 sub) for nearly 2 hours with the car off, pretty loudly, before my car starts to crank over slowly. If I let it play for three hours, it usually wont start.
Odyssey PC680's are fine. You just need to charge yours(no idea why Autozone said they couldn't charge it). I've run mine down a ton of times always comes back. The first one lasted 5.5 years before a cell went bad.
Braille batteries are a total rip off - they're just rebadged Hawker Genesis batts.
Optimas weigh as much as a tank - might as well just get a cheap batt from Wal-Mart or something at that point.

I got an optima (not concerned about weight). And I have YET to have an issue.
I have a pc925.
had for around 4 years.
run dead multiple times and it is just now starting to crank slow.
no complaints got it back when it was a 100 bucks.

I used to be a dealer for Odyssey batteries........ lots of issues. I stopped selling them several years ago. I have had no issues with Braille yet.
Edit: I forgot I was going to tell you that if the battery is completely dead, you can still recharge it quickly. That is one of the nice things about the Odyssey stuff is that all of their batteries can be quick charged to snap them back to life. So the 680 can be charged with a 10amp current in 2 hours. Or 1 hour with a 20amp setting. It's also recommended to trickle(2-5 amp) charge them for about 6-8 hours after you do one of the previous charging scenarios.

Get a Braille, but it would still drain if you leave a light on. Thank god for 1 year warranty, no?
The only pray you have to charge your battery is to use a trickle charger at less then 2amps and let it sit for a few days. You will burn all the acid out of it at 6amps and it will never work again.
Did you guys not see what I wrote? Braille's are just restickered DEKA batteries(used to be known as Hawker Genesis batts).

How long did you drive your car after you jumped it? You normally need to drive your car for a while to charge a dead smaller batteries. Like 20 min at least on the hwy since your rev up enough so that your alt is making amp to charge the battery. Smaller batteries that's I've had need to be either charged for a long time with small amp or more amp/volts for a shorter amount of time.
For battery wise I've ran a few of them. I ended up with this Optima Batteries 9073-167 (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ULT-9073-167/) since I run a mid end sound system and a few other thing. I like to listen to music a lot so I wanted a battery that could last awhile.

True, it's about $25 difference, but then again I can pick up Braille's down the street... so the savings in shipping makes it void.

You can't fast charge a Glass-Mat battery, there is not enough acid in it. You will burn up the acid and the battery will either never hold a charge, or as good a charge again.
If it dies, you really should not jump it, pull it and trickle charge it (2 or less amps - See Battery Tender). This will take around a week to complete.
Charging off the alternator is the worst, as the cars Alt can not provide as steady stream as a Battery Charger. This is also why you should never charge a Cell-Phone off a car-power source. The slight fluxes over time reduce battery life.

As I said, you killed it for good when you jumped it/tried to charge it off the alternator.
If it didn't die there, your 6amp "quick charge" killed it.
All three of those events are liable to kill a glass mat battery.
The only way to recover one that has lost it's charge is to put it on a 2AMP TRICKLE CHARGE AND LEAVE IT THERE FOR A WEEK

Okay generally yes charging a AGM battery is harder and if not done right it'll damage the cells or has u said. If you ever fully drain a AGM battery yes you shouldn't jump start it because it'll damage the battery and shorten it's life.
AGM like to charged at a steady voltage level vs amps because of how they work. So yes you can charge your AGM battery off of your alternator but if you cars voltage isn't steady it's won't work well. Again yes you are right it isn't the best idea but it is better than doing that then using non-AGM chargers.
This is why AGM battery need a really good smart chargers that can charge at voltage level of 14.4 to 13.8. But those chargers cost a lot so of the time everyone skips out on getting them and get a tender. I got a tender that charger at 14.4 and 13.8 with 2 amp charge level.
I had a Gel AGM battery that thing was a bitch to charge... So I had to do a lot of learning about charging AGM and Gel type batteries.

They're the same. Outside dimensions are the exact same, and have been tested to be the same.
Can't help it if Braille "pads" their ratings.

How am I "full of it again" are you honestly trying to follow me thread to thread and start a fight?
My post simply said I can get Braille locally, so the cost savings is minimal since I'd have to pay shipping on a Dekka. Oh god, I didn't find the lowest price Dekka on the web... I spent $10 to much, my 401k is now crying.
Beat me again and my evil trickery oh great internet champion:goyou:.
