Hey all
I need to get a replacement antenna...due to an unfortunate accident before I bought my car, its stock antenna is now missing, and today when washing it, the jagged piece of metal left there sliced open my hand.
If I go to canadian tire and get a new antenna, (a generic one, black thick rubber about a foot tall) how hard will it be to install and whats involved??
as well how come I cant plug it into my aftermarket deck>?? Do I need an adaptor??

Hey guys, seeing how this topic came up anyway. I really dislike the look of antenna in the rear. I might get XM radio (shave it off), but are there any better looking antenna mods or anything i can like possible a smaller antenna...Let me know thanks

i'm in the process of shaving my antenna.
i just pulled my rusty spoiler off and welded up the holes, while i was there i decided to shave my antenna. i never liked the looks of a whip antenna, and my power antenna was broken so i decided to pull it off. it's not hard, and i found a small antenna that works. it's a little box with two little tabs on it and it mounts inside the rear window. i ran the wires down the C-pillar to the connections for the power antenna. there is an antenna plug and power wires to splice into there. the only place you can see the antenna from is standing behind the car and maybe the back seat, but you have to look for it. the reception isn't great, but i barely listen to the radio anyway so i don't care. if i had mounted it properly, 3" away from the window frame, it would probably be better, but then i might be able to see it in the rear view mirror. i don't have the box with me, but i'll see if i can find it so you can try and find it online.
