so i've heard that you can use a ka tranny with the sr bellhousing, but when i tried to put them together it wasn't fitting correctly, i was wondering if the ka transmission had to be a certain year? can anyone help me with this thanks

part of the transmission falls out of place and gets in the way if you aren't holding it when you go to put it together.

Unless you have the 6-speed trans mentioned above you're just doing it wrong. The bellhousings are funky to get on and off correctly. They jam up on the front bearings and occasionally they will knock two shift forks into gear at the same time, which you have to take the trans back off to fix... Just be patient and careful, doublecheck everything before you install it, and some assembly lube never hurt anyone.

so basically the 3 little holes on the left and the one big hole is where i'm having a difficultly where the ka tranny doesn't fit through the holes
heres a pic of my transmission you can see what gear's teeth is gone

The "big hole" still has the destroyed bearing in it.

I think the blown race of the other bearing is still in there.
