I don't know if this helps out but I just got some 6.5's for the back and they don't fit correctly. The screw holes don't match up, too narrow. I'm sure 6.75's will fit but you'll prolly have to make a custom bracket or wood piece to screw everything down.

That's actually a small subwoofer. You wouldn't want to just stick two of those in the rear deck, it would sound like crap. They're meant to be installed in a very small sub box.

What you need for the rear is just a pair of regular 6-3/4" full range speakers. Like these (http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-xloFhwLHZFs/ProdGroup.asp?c=10&g=52100&s=0&cc=01&avf=N). I have the Infinity Kappa 652.5i in my coupe, and they sound great - combined with a pair of Kappa 4652cfp (http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-xloFhwLHZFs/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=10&g=51400&I=1084652CFP&o=m&a=0&cc=01&avf=N) plates up front. (Note that most of the sound should be coming from the front, so the front speakers are more important.)

6 3/4'' will fit in the s13 coupe rear? i thought s13s were 4x6s all around..

actually, i did some searching and seems like nismoer (i think thats his sn) fitted some 6.5s in the front with some custom mounting board he made. it seems it is easily done to put 6.5s or 5.25s round speakers in the fronts but i haven't reserached the rear speakers for a fastback. what materials would you guys recommended for making custom mounts? lexan/plexi glass, MDF, or plywood? i will be fabricating my own brackets to put 6.5s in the fronts and possibly something for the rear. b/c ppl say oval speakers are weaker compared to round speakers.

Fastbacks are 4x6" all around (rear speakers in the walls of cargo area), coupes have 6-3/4" in the rear window shelf and 4x6" in the doors.

As for round vs. oval, as I understand it, oval speakers can play louder for bass and midrange - more surface area - but are not as accurate as round speakers, due to the irregular shape. They are good for rear speakers to fill in the sound but not so good for up front where you want all the detail. That's why plate speakers are made for those applications, which are basically a component mid/tweeter set mounted on a plate to fit the oval size, with a built-in crossover. The S13 is actually kinda nice because the speaker mounts are angled toward you, which helps the front imaging. Alternately you could custom-mount the larger full-range speakers, or mount components with the tweeters on the doors or A-pillars, as I've also seen done.
