Ill start out by saying that I used to own a CRX and when I took out all the crap in the back(sorry for not noing what to call it), it made a little diffrence in my 1/4 mile time, maybe a tenth or so. That was a little over a hundred ponds of dead weight back there so I can see why it helped out. Now I was thinking of doing this to my silvia, gutting the back(seats, plastic molding and whatever else is back there). From yalls experience does this make a notable diffrence in the way the car accelerates, handles, ect..... thanks.

Weight makes a very small difference in the quarter mile. Seems like 100 pounds is worth .1 a second.

Look at it this way, unless you are just barely being beaten by cars on the street or cars on a road course- if its a daily driver its not worth the noise and heat removing the interior gives you.

When you get your friend in your car do you notice the difference in feeling? 100+/- pounds in most cars is pretty difficult to feel the difference.

In my fwd integra I can feel a big difference in cornering ability when i have someone up front. Their added weight gives the car just too much understeer.

For the integra it might be worth removing things to lighten it up, but because its a daily driver I really don't want to deal with the noise so I dont.

Oh, and No I don't notice the difference in my 240 hatch when I removed everything but the tar in the back. Not worth the noise imo. It was mad loud. (Was doing an interior swap)

I havent really raced the car yet, but when I race my buddies silvias and 180's Ive always beat them, not that that matters. The car is already loud as hell, since I removed the rear section of the exhaust. I can tell a diffrence when my freind who is like 300 pounds rides with me, it really effects handiling and acceleration, well anyway thanks for the help.
