The engine is a RB25, with the RB25 transmission. it ran fine and didn't make a noise before I switched out the stock clutch and flywheel for an unorthodox lightened flywheel (aluminum with steel insert) and 6 puck clutch (both were used but with at least 60% life still on them) now it makes a RPM dependent noise when the clutch is engaged and disengaged. Also when driving the transmission pops out of gear with a slight touch where it used to be hard as a rock and would not release without the clutch being depressed.

here is a vid with the noise and showing how it pops out of gear when driving now" only happens on acceleration and idle. it goes quiet when coasting.

Thinking possibly the pressure plate is bad? something didn't go back together right? toss it and out the stock shit back in? toss the pressure plate/puck clutch and put the stock exedy i had and it's pressure plate back in?

Try changing the oil... but also sounds like the pin and bearing that holds the tranny in gear might be outta wack... There has been some mention on it here before...

yeah yeah yeah, i got bored with it sitting in my garage and not wanting to wait another 2 months to by new shit for it. like i said. it has over 50% life left on it so i thought it would be worth a shot. perhaps it was not.

also changing the oil again right now. new 75/90 mobile 1

Where did you get this clutch from?

From RB forums on the internets about 3 months ago.

thinking i will just break down and change back to old pressure plate/clutch with new TOB if the sound stays, it is the flywheel and it is fuxored. i hate guess and checking by transmission removal without a lift.

ends up the shield between the motor and transmission was hitting the flywheel. after slight shield modification and putting in a new TOB (the old one had shavings in it) everything runs great.
