I just saw an sr20det with a distributor. i thought they were all crank angle sensors. is there such a thing? there's also pix of it on sr20store.com...

Look at the spark plug wires, look where they follow in to./

Notice the exhaust header and lack of turbo. That is an SR20DE with a red valve cover.

is it easy to drop a turbo on that thing?

Don't bother.

A genuine SR20DET will be cheaper and work better than an SR20DE + turbo. So will turbocharging a KA24.

SR20DE RWD is pretty useless for S13/14 use as a swap, but it makes a kick *** swap in a Datsun 210 or 510 or roadster.

so there is really no such thing as a sr20deT w/ a distributor?

Prices vary. demand is low for obvious reasons.

There might be a FWD variant with a distributor. I don't know. RWD SR20DETs have coil-on-plug, all of them.

There's no such thing as a RWD SR20DET w/ a distributor as far as I know. There is however many versions of AWD DET's. That's what the FWD guys use for a swap. Since there were never any FWD versions made. Not that it matters on here but the AWD versions bolt right up to FWD trannies.

some cars with swaps use a distributor from a DE to make wireing easier all you do is remove the CAS and replace it with the dist and coil system i have seen a few SR powered trucks that were swapped like that

Would any of you guys know what harness and ECU that motor would need?

guess this thread suits my question as well...

SOHC KA, can I convert to distributorless ingition system? Or is that just a retarded waste of money?q

that was a reply to the post right before it

harness? i assume it could use a sentra harness supposedly you can use a KA harness and ECU also but i cannot confirm any of this

I don't see the point of doing it personally the harness wireing is so easy for the SR swap it kind of negates the purpose

I have an sr20 with a distributor. I didn't do the swap and I'm not 100 percent sure on the wiring, but the ECU is the stock one tuned by JimWolf so it could be used with this setup. I haven't had any problems with it and its performed really well for me.

You used the KA harness and ECu on your setup?

How much did the jim wolf tuning cost? maybe I can sell my coilpacks for the cost of a ka ecu retune. Only reason im interested is cuz I got a chopped harness and a broken cas.

call jim wolf dont revive 8 month old dead threads. but a new cas and a soldering iron are cheaper I guarentee
