Going to upgrade.. considering this box for my s14 (if it fits)

box http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B002E9HANK/ref=sr_1_2_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1279136217&sr=8-2&condition=new (http://zilvia.net/f/box%20http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B002E9HANK/ref=sr_1_2_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1279136217&sr=8-2&condition=new)

But I need a sub to go with it, I was looking at the Alpine type-r but there are some mixed reviews.. any ideas? not sure if ported is a great idea for trunk

I'm using a rockford fozgate 2 Channel amp bridged right now, works fine for my crappy sub but may need to upgrade that too

Not looking for big power either.. I want the sub to accent my system not overpower it.

The link appears dead so I don't know what kind of box you have.

As far as the sub goes I've got a 10" Peerless XLS10. It has been great. I would highly recommend it.

There are pictures of it in that audio thread. I'll see if I can find it.

EDIT:
Found it. http://zilvia.net/f/chat/169473-post-your-speaker-set-up-5.html#post3235221

1. what amp? what specs? rms? max? ohms?
2. subs need to match box, if its designed for certain size/sq. ft, you need to "tune" it to the right size.
3. ported and sealed boxes are not the same, you need to match the sub.
4. sub needs enough power without going over the max, you need to match the amp.
5. why not go 12" ?

Come to think of it you might want to have a mod merge this thread with that one. You will probably get a better answer faster.

link fixed:

Amazon.com: Used and New: Bassworx HPR10G Single 10-InchPorted Enclosure (Black) (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B002E9HANK/ref=sr_1_2_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1279136217&sr=8-2&condition=new)

I've got a 12" Type-R in a sealed box that hits pretty hard. I'm not too much of a bass head like your typical cadillac guy, but it satisfies me.
