I've talked to a representative at Tein and he told me that if i went over 6.5 in the front for the width of the tire then it would start to rub.
Does anyone have this setup. I am pretty sure a lil more can be put w/o rubbing.
need input thanks

Its a little more complicated than that. It depends on offset and tire size.
Like for example a 225 tire needs about +30 or lower to clear.
Just say what you plan to run, and we'll tell you if it can fit.

Duffman are you talkin bout the radius/diamenter of the tire? because that's not what i'm talkin about i'm actually talkin bout the width of the tire. I planned on gettin 17 by 9... but i was told taht 6.5 in the front is the max that tein recommends...

they are incorrect
a 17x9 +30 or LOWER should clear ok
might need lower then 30? not sure 100%...
remember, tein does not know EVERY CAR, so they protect themselves by saying that to you!!!

do you have the HE or not? just wondering anyhow here's a cut and paste
To Roy:
In regards to your question. In order to fit our HE kit. Your front
wheel
size have to be 6.5 inches wide or lower. If you choose the wheel size
that
is larger then our recommend settings. You will experience rubbing from
the
tires to the damper itself. One option is to purchase some extended
wheel
stud and spacers for the fronts. Then you can run a wider tire size in
front. Just make sure the spacers are durable. Please contact anyone of
our
sales at the office for further assistance.

and finally
In regards to your question. You will have to find out how much
extension
you will need to figure out what size of washer to purchase. The
extended
wheel studs usually comes in only one length, and you will need to run
open
lug nuts. But unfortunately, we do carry those products. Second, the
rubbing
that you are talking about is from the tire to the inner fender. Which
will
be relevant to the tires and rims radius. But the rubbing that I am
talking
about is from tire to suspension. So therefore, It is the width of the
tires
and not the size of the tires or the rims. Also, the 17 x 9 will fit
your
stock settings with stock shocks, but that does not mean it will fit
our
shocks. Our shocks has a shorten shock body, so therefore, the
clearance
values are different then your stock setup. Please contact anyone of
our
sales at the office for further assistance.

Tein HE's with 16 X 7.5 (225/50 tire)
require 30mm offset.

Why do you need to see if any one else has them? 17x9 +30-+20 on stock fenders should be fine with 215/4517 or MAYBE 225/45/17 and some negative camber. I know this because I have it on JIC FLT-A2s. I specifically have 17x9 +25. (R33 GTR rims with 5mm spacer, no extended wheel studs).

And since not MANY wheels come in 17x9, and given the choice many people would put 8 inch up there, I figure there is a pretty good chance this dude is indeed looking at getting some BNR33's. Therfore by saying that I specifically have them, it eliminates him having to ask whether the R33s will fit. I am just helping, you little gnat!!! Hahaha.
now if I had SP1s or Agel Minerva's or TE37s i would be saying something more like:
"Yeah, I have SSR Professor Agel Minervas in 17x10 +12 in front. My SSR Professor Agel Minervas in 17x10 +12 fit with my FRP wide fenders, and the SSR Professor Agel Minervas in 17x10 +12 are barely fitting with 235´s on them. The outerlip of my SSR Professor Agel Minervas in 17x10 +12 is almost hitting... Heheehehehehe..."
