I've searched.
The post in all threads say that it should clunk, while a few saying it should not.
If it should how loud is it supposed to be?
Mine is very loud. Attributing factors are my car is a hatchback and doesn't have any sound deadening material in the back.
Still, from people who have KAAZ 2-ways I hear that mine shouldn't be as loud as it is.
I would video it, but you really wouldn't be able to reference how loud the sound is since I don't have a dB meter.

Mine clunks and the clutch plates rattle, just the nature of the beast. As long as it's shimmed properly the noise you are hearing is normal.

It's a race diff. It's SUPPOSED to be like that.
I've seen a video of a Pagani Zonda R and it made the same noise pulling out of a driveway slowly.

2-ways are going to clunk even when shimmed properly but it's best to use a quality fluid such as Motul 90pa or the KAAZ fluid to keep it down and help prevent premature wear.

Any decent gear oil will suffice in them. Why pay for the 'JDM tax' for the Kaaz fluid?
We run Rotella 80/90 non synthetic in everything, with Spicer 43161 Friction Modifier...seems to be the best at keeping the noise down...much better than the Ford Modifier, and it costs the same.

Totally normal, If you patterned the rear end, checked back lash, and don't have a pinion bearing problem then you're fine.
Realize what's happening and you'll understand why its so loud...

both kaaz diffs that I had were pretty loud. different gear oils help to quite the diff down.

I don't own a KAAZ but I heard they are more sensitive to what fluid you use... apparently not supposed to use Redline or other full synthetics?
Maybe it's just a myth...
I do know when I switched from Redline/Ford Modifier to Motul 90PA it made a noticeable difference.

Thanks for helping ease my worries guys.
...but I'm selling the car anyway :(
edit:
not because the 2-way is loud, but it's one of the cumulative reasons. I've grown soft :-P
