:bow: Hey whats up everyone. thought i would say HI as since im going to be a regular on Zilvia now. After some old guy drove through a stop sign and totaled my civic i started to look for a new car almost immediately one of the first cars i test drove was a 1993 240sx i loved it and knew i had to have one. unfortunately that one was sold the next day. well about a month later i found a 1989 240 at a dealership for 2400 bucks after a test drive and some bitching i got it for 2000. and as a bonus it has the KA24DE engine in it:D I've had it for a little more then a week now with no complaints at all. My first two mods are on there way to my house right now hopefully they will arive by next weekend. I have ordered a HKS hi power exaust and a B&M shifter. I will keep you all posted on the progress. Later guys:rawk:

The 89-90 came stock with the KA(E) SOHC and the 91-94 Has the KA (DE) DOHC. If he has a KA(DE) in there, the engine has been swapped and is no longer a stock 89.
Best way to tell?? Does his spark plug wires go into the top of the engine or the sides?
Top=DE Sides =E

Actually, 240sx's in 1989 and 1990 had the KA24E (single cam) with 140HP and 152ft lbs, from 1991-1998 the 240sx's had the KA24DE (dual cam)with 160HP and 155ft lbs.(don't quote me on those numbers);) I was just saying my 89' Has the dual cam motor instead of the standard single cam motor. later

why does everyone feel the need to correct somoene else without knowing themselves...
and in turn, i am correcting you thereby relieving my need to correct someone.... the circle continues

hey krazy_racer, i already apologized for doing that. I thought there was only one type of KA but apparently i was wrong. I already said sorry so i dont see the need for u to say anything about it. Im not trying to be mean or anything.

my turn to correct!
he did say ft/lbs. the correct unit is ft-lbs.
ft-lbs is feet TIMES pounds (the - is a hyphen, not a minus sign)
ft/lbs is feet DIVIDED by pounds, which isn't torque. it's some other weird thing
this thread is great!
