Well just got the engine running after doing my swap, and I've got a pretty loud "metallic screaching/whinning" whenever the engine is turning over and running.

I was shitting myself thinking that I've got an oiling problem and that's the sound of the engine bearings running dry!

However, the sound does change whenever I engage/disengage the clutch (but does not go away completely). During the swap I stuck in a SPEC lightweight flywheel/clutch/pressure plate, is there a chance that the sound I'm hearing is simply the clutch assembly wearing in?

Or is there a better chance that I've got a more serious issue on my hands?

Cheers in advance for the input!

when you press the clutch the sound goes away?Thats the pilot bearing, the bearing that presses against the pressure plate more then likely.

The sound doesn't go away completely, but it does definitely change pitch and get quieter when I push the clutch pedal down.

What would cause the pilot bearing to make so much noise? Never had that before.
