This is probably everywhere but i wanna do a swap i have a 1990 240sx
ka24e m/t has 208k miles on it and getting to its end
I wanna do a swap for more power and just to be cool.
i am torn between 3 things
pros
ca18det
Brother owns one he could help with tune building ect its different
stock 169 hp and 166 lbft
easily upgradeable to 300+hp
sr20det
its easy everyone has parts. parts available at local stores
stock 202 hp and 203 lbft
very easily get 300+hp
rb25det
itd be fun it is very different alot of power sounds awesome
stock 267 hp and 246 lbs.
has alot of potential
cons
ca18det
little displacement compared to other motors
not sure if parts are available at local stores
sr20det
everyone has them other than that not much
rb25det
expensive.... lot of money! haha
parts aren't at local stores not a drop in have to fab or buy parts to get it to work
so i would like your help guys

for track only, I would say go with either the SR or the RB, just because of the out of the box power. I am a bit biased towards the RB (as i have one). Internals are good to 500 RWHP, and getting a reliable 350 out of it is no big deal. It will cost more money, but I thought it was worth it when I was tracking down what I wanted in a track car. It's 100% up to your pocket book size, and your goals for the car

i say do what YOU want, not what people on the internets say.
imo you should do a 4age swap with a 2jz in the rear and 11 13b's on each side of the car, with nos.

....wow^^^ lol
but imo if u look at wat u wrote, the sr is forsure more reasonable.
parts will always be there, its a straight swap, and power is there. who cares if alot of people have the motor, alot of people also have ka's lol. but then again this s just my OPINION!!!

That's why I'm leaning towards the rb25. How much did your swap cost in all?

What's I matter how old I am. Why did you do a sr swap into a 510? To get more power and to be cool

Not sure if the wow is to me or your above post
Yes the sr is logical choice. And the nice thing about haveing a sr would be that a lot of my buddies own and use them so they would be able to help with tuning building etc....

get a s15 sr. worth the price, its fast enough stock for a 18 year old.
i doubt you will be able to take the rb motor to its 500hp capabilities,
im not descriminating because of your age, just sayin its hard in the streets
when your young yo.

I dont mean to be a dick, but this thread is pointless. Question has been asked and answered countless times, everything you need to know about swaps has been covered countless times, every swap has been done countless times. just search
