Hey I'm debating if I should do a widebody on my S14 and trying to find some inspiration. Found a couple of pictures on google but nothing to great, so thought I would make a thread because I know some people have nice pics of different things.

So yeah if you have any pictures of a widebody S14 post here please!!

My S14, with 18x10 +0 / 18x12 +0 Works and 245/40/18 285/30/18 tires. Only got to run one event before it fell victim to a pileup on the freeway. Just needed paint.

AIT ~20mm fenders in front, shaved as much as possible, still wasn't wide enoguh. Dmax "40mm" rear overfenders stretched to about 60mm. About 3* of camber front and back, 5* of caster, no toe.

It's not a bn, bn is fucking disgusting.

custom if i remember correctly its based off a version select kit, the car was recently owned by my friend, its now in Sacramento.

i thought the entire point of wide body, was to give you the space to run actual tire.... not stretch it more and leave it 4x4.

I think BN looks alright on the Zenki S14's, since they have a lot of rounded lines... fits with the bulgey widebody. On everything else, it's pretty gross.

The purpose of a widebody is to fit wider and/or lower offset wheels. Replacement front fenders and rear overfenders (with original quarterpanels cut and welded) does that. They're affordable, and replaceable - both of which are important to those that actually drive.

Ultimately :
go widebody if it's necessary for the purpose of your car,

if you feel the need to get super big rims or super big tires, than you need a widebody.

if not then you totally dont need a widebody because you can look great without it.

dont get a widebody if you dont have the right size wheels for it though..that's for sure..
running 8" or 9" wide wheels with gigantic spacers just to have a widebody kinda defeats the purpose.

Maybe because I don't have enough time and patience to just browse the net. Some of us actually have lives.

If you don't have any pictures or productive information about widebody then don't post up anything. Quit wasting your time and trying to get your post count up.

omg ppl are morons. everyone think they are pro and know better. you should listen to this guy "hashiriya415" coz a tire that is spinning creates a layer of higher pressure around it, with the car moving forward it acts as an air brake slowing the car down. learn from F1 Formula 1 Insight (http://madtv.me.uk/f1insight/default.aspx?blogid=222)

not sure how that pertains to this thread but I also always wondered why they didnt use tire covers in formula one, it seams liek basic physics that aero surrounding the tires would allow for less drag

what the fuck? did someone ask a question?

for the questions...i'm running -3 degrees of camber in the rear and -5 degrees in the front already, the wheels would not fit on the stock body witha 2 inch pull already (rear) and putting the front wheels on, they stuck out 2 inches as well.....they still stuck out 2 inches from the pulled metal fenders....that's why i went with overs. plus...this aero with stock fenders looks tarded.

FIA gives out certain rules on aero parts as far as I know it must be securely attached and no way of it to move, now if you look at wheel covers it's not attached to chassis, it's moving. However they do have small pieces in front of the tires which deflect the air away from the tire.
YouTube - Inside a Formula 1 Car -- Aerodynamics (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RWufDNN9hw)
Too bad some people felt offended by my post about that wide body, all I'm saying it doesn't function as good and look as good as a real wide body that covers the tire almost all the way around.

gabe is exactly right...they are 30mm pinched...i would say to around 50-60mm. I still have to work out the camber...and cut the fenders a little more.

heres some pics

If it makes any difference the rear over fenders are my biggest regret on the car.. had i been able to go back i would have never done it.

Fronts are thankfully stock fenders pulled on an 18 by 10 +18 with a 265/35/18

rears are origin 50s with a 18 by 11 +18 and a 315/30/18 on the rear

If you don't mind me asking, how come you regret the rears? Did they not fit well or do you just not care for the look?

a lot of people I met that went with over fenders regret it to, it really should be a last resource and only if necessary, or you gotta really love the extra wide look.

stock metal=stronger, and cleaner.

well they look nice when you spend forever trying to make them look nice.

But when you actually use your car like i do, and have fun stupid shit like this happens and it ruins your day

needless to say this doesnt happen to stock sheet metal

oem fenders ftmfw. there are only a handful of wheels that "can't" fit on well pulled/rolled metals. I also feel like that only time i'd ever get overs is if my rear quarters were fuxed. i'd cry cutting up perfectly "good" metal.

the only thing i regret for doing the custom fronts is it makes the car seem higher than it is. my front sits more than flushed and low with regular fenders, but since i did this, theres a gap.

i love the wide body look personally...as long as it is done correctly. anything can look great, if done the right way. i just bought origin 50mm for the back and 30mm for the front...cant wait to put them on and have the car is looking all fine

Maybe since this is a wide body thread and not a fitment thread someone can respect the work that has gone into this car.. Car was raised for the trek from So Cal to WA.. Thanks to Mike at Pacific Coast Auto Body in Miramar CA for the custom wide body.

so i picked up an s14 in a trade and the ONE thing thats bugging me is it has molded rear overs. they're legit chargespeed and they look dope. problem is they already have cracks (i'm assuming it's where they were molded) and i'm about to take the car for paint. i'm sure they wouldn't be hard to cover up but since it's a track car i don't want all the cracks to start emerging after i get it painted. my question is, how hard is to remove and redo it...when i redo it i'm assuming my option is to rivet in on and use filler to "cover" the rivets? is it possible i can destroy the overfenders in teh process?

Thanks man its been a long time in the making.... This was the second round of body work and I think I finally got it right.. Its not everyones cup of tea but I wanted different in the world of S13s, and I think I definitely nailed that.. I'm pretty sure its the only one of its kind on the west coast for sure possibly even the country. Correct me if I am wrong. It has alot of unique traits not only is it a S13.4 hatch but its a double wide body and it was done right.. No cutting corners on this one. Mike did a phenomenal job on it.

its neither, I was told by a friend of the opnwer that the wide body panels were some cheap imitation fenders that were modified to make the car much wider, I am assuming with fiberglass, similar to my old 40mm
dmax fenders that we modified to make them 140mm wide.

Yea Sei was the name, wweird, his buddy told me it was some vis fenders they started with then modified them to make it work.. but if its all metal, then even better, thats my ultimate goal, all metal =much stronger.
my fronts on the last s14 were all metal too..loved them
