I know the Apexi NEO and other piggy back setups are not recomended for tuning, the small adjustability is just something i may play with a bit but NOT the main reason i want to get the unit.

I just finished my 97 KADE swap on my Datsun 510, and while shopping for guages i thought, why not get a display unit like the NEO?? Its small, compact, and doesnt attract much attention to itself wich is a big plus to me.

From my understanding it just plugs into the OBD II port and gets readings for Tach, speed, volt, water temp, etc without having to install extra sensors and such.

Now here is my question:

I am planning on staying NA for a while, and i really just want an accurate tach, water temp, and voltage display. And having all of those in one unit seems quite appealing to me. But how accurate is it? Is it pretty easy to get a "calibrated" reading? I really also like the plug and play aspect of it in this sense but i want to make sure its not a PITA to get to work right with my motor choice.

I am NOT set on getting the NEO either! I am sure that there are other options as well, so what I am looking for is different ideas, options, and opinions on the matter.

I am fairly new to the KA scene so any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

no. it taps into TPS, MAF, and IIRC speed n tach. you can use it to monitor TPS value and i think tach. but overall its just a piggy back not a monitoring device. you would be better off getting a Greddy Infometer...or something along those lines.

I have an S-AFC the blue one, it's just used for a gauge. follow the instructions as stated except for the MAFS. Take the safc signal in wire and just tap into the mafs signal wire don't cut it.

Totally forgot about the Informeter! A little more than i wanted to spend, but the truth is that it is a great all in one item to have! It can replace pretty much almost every gauge u would want...

So far thanks for the advice. Any other options or ideas? I havent picked up anything yet, im still weight my options...Cause if i get the informeter im not even going to hook up my stock 510 dash stuff except for temp and gas lol...Speedo and Tach will be useless with something like the greddy unit...im just curious to know if its gona look wierd "/
