I was driving my Silvia the other day, I was in 4th gear at 180kph and I suddently felt a loss of power and speed started decreasing kinda fast. I pulled over and the idle wasn't as calm as before, I popped the hood, and engine was shaking like crazy left to right, and it was shaking all the way down the exhaust. After the engine was cooled down, I took out the spark plugs, 3 out of the 4 cylinders had plugs with a melted tip. I had never seen so many plugs with a burnt tip at the same time. I had 1 burn a while ago, but never 3. So I replaced the plugs thinking it might have been the issue, but the problem didnt get solved. Ive noticed that the night when I drove the car, there was a little ticking sound when I started it, but nothing too alarming. But that noise is still there now, and a little bit more frequent. Also when I turn off the engine, theres a weird "ktchuuuuu" (doing my best to describe it lol) that doesnt last very long, but I had never heard it before. Ive notice that the car doesnt shake in at 2-3000 rpm and up, but when it gets back on idle it starts dancing again. Ive notice that the turbo is still boosting well. And another thing, when its on idle, sometime it seems like it about to choke and die. Its running stock boost, stock turbo, basically stock everything except for the intake and exhaust. I had never had issues with this car before, and im not an S-Chassis expert, im more of a Rx-7 boy lol.

So I'm looking for pointers on what the issue(s) might be, some of you guys definately know more about it then me, help would be appreciated! Ive looked it up a bit, but havent found anything yet. Thanks in advance!

Um you blew up your motor? A sudden decrease in power is a fucking awful sign of something going terribly wrong.

Melted spark plug tips?

I would do a compression test real fucking soon.

Pics of plugs?

I hope it's not what I think it is.

Sounds like something leaned out???? I mean melted spark plug tips, loss of power?

It seems the engine lost compression....

Looks like you might be needing to rebuild your engine here pretty soon. A ticking sound on an S14 Sr would normally be a VTC cam problem but since you mentioned a melted plug and three outta four burnt plugs, sorry to say but its gotta be a bad problem with the engine.

Just talked to a friend....if you are lucky, the plugs got melted FIRST, and you lost power simply because the plugs weren't functioning.

However, if the plugs melted because of detonation and you lost power bc the engine lost compression, this obviously is not good.

I would do a compression test.....

UPDATE:

Prior to this he had noticed a slight ticking a few times, nothing major.

ALSO: Smelled like a shitload of gas maybe 15 minutes before taking off.

Any ideas?
