Ok. I have a 95 240 le...So my front wheels and steering wheel shakes HORRIBLY only at 60mph- 70mph. It shakes soo bad that it feels like my front wheels are going to come off. I had my bro stick his head out and look at the wheels at this speed and he states that the wheels are "wobbling" side to side therefore im getting the steering wheel shake, im assuming.
What i have done already to try to solve this problem:
new hubs
alignment twice
wheel balance twice
new front tires
new rack n pinion
new tie rod ends
new tension rods
checked all bolts to front suspension to make sure theyre torqued down
And the problem only persist to get worse. What i havent check yet are my bushings. I've also researched it and some say its an unbalanced drive shaft or u joint going bad. Im so pissed cuz i've spent alot of money trying to figure this problem out and its still here. I even had a mechanic look at it and he said its the rack, so i replaced the rack and its still here. Help me guys. My last option is taking it to nissan, but for what they will probably charge me, its not going to happen.

Check your brake rotors.
When you got an alignment both times, were they off, or was everything in spec the same?
Your power steering lines aren't reversed, are they?
Also, check your studs/ ball joint/lca.

Shouldn't be that much of a mystery if it's your wheels. There's only so much that holds the wheel on.
Check your cross member. Remove your lower control arm if you need to. If the wheel hub has new wheel bearings in it then the only other thing you haven't bought new is the ball joint for the LCA.
Try new wheels, maybe those are fucked. If nothing else is fucked on the wheels and they don't have any play in them when the cars off the ground then it might be something related to your steering rack.

^^^ He's got an AWD 240 lol
I had a similar problem with my s13, ended up being the arm bushings.

no, it doesn't make sense, however thats what some people are saying may be the problem. i dont see how the driveshaft can make the steering wheel wobble, but i checked anyways
first alignment was done after the tension rods were put in. drove straight, but still shook on the freeway at speeds.
second alignment was done 2 days ago when the new rack was put in.
i just checked my driveshaft and all seems to be solid with no play. bushings and knuckles are next.

I agree with Zar. Same stuff happened to me and turned out that the rotors were warped or something

i did take it to a real shop and had it diagnosed. the mechanic there said it was a bad inner tie rod, so i said f** it, i went and got a whole new racknpinion with rods and swapped it out and got an alignment. ...and that was not the problem, cuz its still here.
im running q45 brakes and i doubt its the rotors cuz it only shakes at 60-70mph, but i will take it off and resurface them anyways.
i even took off a brand new hub with bearings to nissan cuz the bearings inside seemed to have a little play...so the tech there said get a new one, and i did...and no fix

Swap your wheels, check your ball joints & other busings as well for play. My brother had this issue too but it was the ball joints.
After you have either resurfaced or bought new rotors.

If your wheels are the same size swap them front to back and see if the problem moves?
When they balanced the wheels did they check them for run out to see if they are bent?

you should have done this from the begining...i used to see this all the time. usualy would be improper wheel balance or a slightly bent wheel.
