Well I am new to posting here, enven though I have been lurking for a while. I love the 240sx the beutiful body lines of the s14, the intoxicating look of "droopy eyes" on s13s, and the aggressive look of the s15. I once owned a black 1991 240sx se and loved the car to death. I kept the car stock completely; no stickers, wing, bodykit, or engine mods for that matter. Sadly I was forced to sell my beauty due to college costs. But now that my freshmen year in college is coming to an end I want to buy aother 240sx, looking at a 1993 currently. I also want to try something out of the norm I dont want to conform to the sr20det "fad" (no disrespect to those who are enthusiests who have sr20dets), I am going to try my luck at an rb25det swap. My friends have already agreed to help me transition this engine when I buy my new 240sx and also before the engine is installed it will be modded by my friends' friend who owns a small tuner shop. I also want to get into the drifting scene while keeping the car stock as far as the body is concerned. I hope to be a part of the nissan enthusiest community and not a bandwagon ricer. Thanks for listening to my endless ranting. :)
Welcome to Zilvia. happy to hear what your new plans are, but there is one thing about that might be what you are looking for. The RB25det isn't much of an engine to be drifting in from what i hear. Im sure you can drift w/the engine but the engine is heavy and while your drifting your bound to break stuff, suspension, exterior and engine wise. There isnt a whole lot of companies making parts for the RB25det. But there are some. Good luck on your path to your car, and remember always use the search function.;)

Thanks for the welcome. On the rb25det being too heavy will stiffer suspension and custom mounts help the problem?

Probably, but then you'll need to brace the chassis, which will take a lot more stress, beef up your control arms/ tie rods, which will also take more stress, and definitely upgrade your braking power, which will have more weight to stop (well... not really that much more weight, but an ounce of prevention.....).
People have done the swap before, so it's definitely possible... but I haven't really heard too much as far as handling being adversely affected by the engine. Seems like a one-sided POV everytime I hear from someone who's done the swap, at least as far as I remember.
