LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A strong quake rattled Borrego Springs Wednesday that could be felt across the Southland.
A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck near Borrego Springs at approximately 4:50 p.m. Wednesday. The estimate was preliminary, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake was centered 28 miles south of Palm Springs, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
A 3.6-magnitude aftershock followed the initial quake. The aftershock was locaed approximately 6 miles northwest of Anza, Calif.

But really, that shit was scary. It was 25 miles away from me, my first real, close earthquake. My first thought was post "earthquakeeeeeee!!!!" on facebook, like the rest of socal, then i book'd it to the 60 inch LCD to make sure it didn't fall. phewww!

i felt that ish, i thought it might be the big one coming up haha but we got lucky. fyi there WILL be at least a 6.8 mag earthquake in the next thirty years along the san andreas fault and when that happens it may trigger the southern part of the fault to slip all the way to the salten sea and maybe the cucamonga fault and san jacinto fault as well. if all that happens it could be as big as a 7.8 mag which would severely screw us like no water for at least 3-4 days
