I just downloaded it and it looks pretty promising. The violence and gore are just where they need to be. I haven't read the manga, but the anime is already enough to fill my zombie needs. I can't wait for the second episode to come out next week.

And there's another "zombie" anime called Zombie Loan, but I didn't dig that one either.

So I finished watching the first episode last night...Sure captures the raunchiness of old school horror films with the unnecessary boobage, and "gory" zombie killan. I don't think HOTD's fan service is out of place for the genre. The genre seems to have quite a bit of overtly sexual connotations, IMO.

I think it ruins it. I like hearing the original tones/voices of the characters, even though i don't understand the language completely. Sure you don't have to read, but it's no big deal for me.

Dubs are the worst thing ever. The translations suck. The dubbers always do this thing where they go "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh~...." all the time. Then when they pronounce Japanese names but they don't speak Japanese, they butcher the names.

Deep vocied dramatic moments are more impacting in Japanese. High pitched funny or whiny characters are more humorous too. If english voice actors try to use tones that deep or that high, it just sounds irritating and forced to me. Conversional English normally tends to stay in a kind of medium pitch range, but Japanese seems to go to deeper lows and sky highs quite often and more naturally. Just my opinion though.
