I got my hands on a full set of z32 brakes, Alum. 26mm front, rear calipers and ebrake assembly, also have Alum. 30mm front, rear calipers and ebrake assembly along with the aluminum z32 uprights from a 91 NA. I know i have to use either JIC or Megan coilovers in order to use the z32 upright on the s13. I already have a set of HKS coilovers that i had been using with the stock s13 uprights. As far as weight goes between the s13 and z32 uprights, its not a huge difference. Im also doing a 5 lug conversion on my s13 and will be able to use the rear z32 hub on my s13 upright. Would it be worth swapping the rear uprights? What about the difference in the thickness of the rotors, go with the 26mm or 30mm set up? (not sure about weight difference) Thanx in advance.

I have searched, im just trying to get some opinions on which set to stick with and which set to get rid of and whether or not the z32 upright swap is even worth it. They made 3 brake systems for the z32s for a reason. I know i dont want the iron calipers, i know someone out there has an opinion on wether to go with 26mm or 30mm. saving weight, or the mass of the rotor. I have the option between the two and im interested in what others with more experience have to say. You seem to know the history of it, and took the time to reply to my post, what is your opinion?

I'll buy the 30mm from you if the sell I'm "suppose to get" doesn't go through..

I have the 26s with some Hawk street/performance pads on my S14. I have the stock brakes on the rear. The car stops great. I haven't driven one with the 30s or with the rear Z32 brakes so I can't give you a comparrison on that. I have some guesses though. If you are building the car for the track them it might be worth it to do the bigger rears and the 30s. If you are building a street car it may not be worth it. I am plenty happy with my brake set up. The reason is in the next paragraph.
I have read where some have complained about pedal travel and pedal pressure with the stock master cylinder and Z32 brakes. To much of both is the complaint. For that reason, when I did mine I also installed the Z32 master cylinder and booster. There are two different sizes of master cylinders for the Z32. I think mine was the 1 1/16th. Works perfect. Feels like it was all designed to work together because it was. Hope this helps.

Right on, yeah im doing front and rear, I do plan on tracking the car and it would make sense to have the thicker rotors to handle the higher hp. Compared to the stock s13 brakes the 26s are already thinker, larger in diameter, and heavier. Would going with the 26s to try and shave some weight for tracking be smart or just going into it too much? I also grabbed a 17/16 MC from the same donor car, the booster was bad on that car (brakes locked up when running) so i might just stay with the stock booster or find a booster from an auto s13 (i read somewhere that said the z32 mc and the s13 auto booster gave a better pedal feel) or another z32. Thanx for the input btw
