Sr20 hard to start, wont rev

Ok here is the story. I finally got the sr20 swapped and it ran. Timing is still a little off but it was reving and everything . Everytime i try to start teh car it would start right up. But today i took it for a test drive and it wouldnt rev past 1800-2000rpm in every gear. So i took to to my dads buddies maybe 5 mins away from my garage then shut it off. After trying to figure out what was wrong i tried to start it up and it would not start. So i took the spark plugs out cleaned them and tried again. It finally started but had a really ruff idle. I had no other way to get it home so i tried driving it home. Got half way home then it wouldnt rev past 1300-1500rpms. It got worse and worse then it just died. So i tried starting it again and nothing. I think its the mafs but why would it rev and start easy at my garage but once i drove it then the problem started. Im a little pissed off right now so i might not make sense. HELP!! Thanks in advance

oh and none of the transmission sensor plugs are plugged in.

My best guess, Is the ecu sensed somethings was wrong! Told his friends to tell you multiple times. And when you didn't listen, The ecu, with the recommendation from the MAFS, then took it upon itself to protect the engine!

well i dont think transmission harnesses have anything to do with revving, but that timing needs to be fixed. It may not be off by much, but that is the cause of deposits on your spark plugs causing them to not work properly. So get that fixed. And the revving issue its probably your MAF or TPS

I am guessing the not being able to rev part is your ecu going into limp mode. Check your ecu for codes.

Also, don't be so sure you don't need the tranny sensors.... I want to say there are one or two sensors that are required to run.

oh damn for some reason i thought this was about a KA. SR sensors are speed, neutral, reverse

i have the same problem but my sr doesnt rev at all past 1800 on neutral, i think its going to be my maf since it has a single cam one right now but dont freak out and definately dont drive it til its 100 percent driveable Ok here is the story. well it wont start at all now. So i know it has a fuel so i checked for spark. I took the coils one at a time put a spark plug in it and turned it over and everyone had spark except for the #3 coil. It sparked once in about 5 seconds. But im dropping the car off monday toa shop up in canada to have everything gone through and fixed what is needed.

maybe your igniter is going bad i had that problem, but the car not reving has to be the maf

Sounds like a MAF to me. Are you using a stock ECU or do you have something to tune with?
