car 92 hatch back.
engine sr20det.
first day it has started. day 1
The car cant idle, well it idles rough up and down from 7-500, then the engine dies, the timing and coils are fine, fuel is sufficient.
the car is running two blow of valves. the stock one and a greddy type S. both are open atmosphere. they dont recirculate. Reason for doing this, pluging up the hole in the greddy intercooler kit.
the waste gates vacuum line goes into the hot pipe (mechanic did this and said it will be fine until you get some more vacuum line to reach the manifold.)
no air filter.
some things it could be vacuum, spark plugs, MAF sensor, the hole for the stock bov return to the intake pipe, is duct taped.
okay so whats wrong, with my car... i need to to idle good.

its probably because theres a leak through the dduct tape... and you have 2 BOVs... try plugging up the hole from your stock bypass valve with a shift light cover and a clamp... your idle is like that because of your open atmosphere BOV...
i have the same problem except my idle stays steady, but its after acceleration (when i clutch in), is when my idle fluxuates like that... i have no other vaccum leaks neither (or at least from what i checked)... im going to put back on my stock hotpipe with out the BOV and see how my idle is and let you know... but i think one way to fix it is the S-afc and a certain setting...
anyone else know how to fix it and maintain the BOV?? i have the HKS super sequential...
i also set my idle to sit a teeny bit higher just enough to where it wont die all the time, but now it idles high enough to where when my turbo timer counts down all the way, my car shuts off and turns back on and restarts the turbo timer...
PS.. not trying to jack your post, just heping you and me get more answers...:)

I would remove the stock BOV or permanently seal it off, reading that you have another BOV in the system, the stock one generally creates a vacuum leak and symptoms like you are describing. Another thing I suggest doing is verifying your vacuum lines. Make sure they are all run the right way and there are no leaks.
An SAFC can help you adjust how much fuel and when. It can also be used to fool your computer into thinking it has one MAF when you are using another. It's best use though is for managing your fuel.

Okay iv removed the HKS spark plugs, put in some new crappy bosche platinums. I removed the Vacuum from the factory bov. Put on an air filter...and still idle problems.

Did you remove the stock BOV or permanently seal it off? If it is still inline, or in the system at some point with a second BOV as well, it will give you vacuum problems.

okay so i should i seal it all up with duct tape? or vacuum line condoms

If you already have a second BOV, I would remove it and fill in the gap with some PVC pipe from a hardware store. That's a simple and dependable fix.

what i used to cover it up is the autometer shift light condom and a hose clamp... works like a charm... you might still have some idle issues if your BOV is atmospheric...

In the opening post, it was said that both BOV are atmospheric.
