Alright everyone, it's that time again. The front part of Angeles Crest is closed so we're starting a little further north this year. A few members ran this exact route a few weeks ago though, so I know it's good.

The plan is to meet at Ralphs at 3:30p.m. and leave for the cruise at 4:00p.m. The address for the Ralphs is:

10455 Sunland Blvd.
Sunland, CA 91040

The cruise route we're going to take (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=10455+Sunland+Blvd&daddr=Oro+Vista+Ave,+San+Fernando+Valley,+Los+Ange les,+California+to:Angeles+Forest+Hwy%2FCo+Hwy+N3+ to:CA-2+E%2FAngeles+Crest+Hwy&geocode=FdPFCgIdnX3y-Clnx2xNZpPCgDEliH1F5aSfyw%3BFdPnCgIdLqXy-CnlbwCARpPCgDGmTRtyd9GQdQ%3BFTfPCwIdAJr1-A%3BFZSUDAIdCi78-A&hl=en&mra=ls&via=2&sll=34.119385,-117.869155&sspn=1.009576,2.705383&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=11) will run about an hour and 45 minutes, so we should be done by 6:00p.m. I'm looking at different dinner options and I'll try to finalize a place and post it in the thread in a couple days.

Last year we had somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 cars, so it should be a great one. It's an incredible drive if you've never been. See you all there!

I don't think so. Angeles Crest is all two lanes as far as I know.

I'm looking for somewhere to eat around Wrightwood and then heading home on the 15 most likely. Any suggestions?

Not any place in particular but I remember when I used to do crest cruises we would stop on a little restaurant in the middle of the mountains. Not sure exactly where that lies. Not suggesting it per-say, but just giving you options. Don't really know any places in wrightwood. I'm down for anything, just let us know.

Bump!

If anyone has any hand held walkie talkies please bring them along. Cell reception is not great on the mountain and it will be a good way to keep in touch.

My buddy and I will be probably be driving the front of the route this weekend to make sure things go smoothly, so I'll report back on conditions.

For anyone interested we're also planning another motorgen auto event (http://motorgen.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=143) this month - going and shooting at a range and then cruising to the beach. That's being planned for July 24th.

I'm still figuring out the food situation for the 10th, but I'll come up with something soon and I'll get it posted up. I'm just trying to figure out a place where we won't run into too much traffic. Thanks!

Bump!

This is on Saturday!

A handful of people have run this in the last week and have reported back that the road is in great shape overall. It should be a really nice drive!

Bring your walkie talkies if you have them!

It is pretty cool and don't worry...its legitly a cruise not a canyon run. So just take it easy, enjoy the view and other rides. Pretty fun. Looking forward to it.

Alright everyone, tomorrow is the big day! Remember, we're meeting at 3:30p.m. and leaving the parking lot at 4:00p.m.

The address for Ralphs is:

10455 Sunland Blvd.
Sunland, CA 91040

I just spent the last couple hours cleaning up the google map directions (they're flaky) and here are the finished directions for tomorrow. (https://docs.google.com/document/edit?id=1zwGEHbaOL1nf9pP9cH34YP6HXw1ct0gtOxkCAQauu uc&hl=en) I will print some out, but please feel free to print your own or check them out.

We're going to go to Fuddruckers at Ontario Mills after the run for dinner. This is reflected in the directions. The address for Fuddruckers is:

4423 Mills Circle, Ontario, CA

After the run we'll have videos and pictures, so keep checking here for updates. (http://www.motorgen.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=143) See you tomorrow - bring walkie talkies if you have them!

Thanks to everyone for coming! We had just about 40 cars total. On the first video you'll see about 30 - some people missed a turn on the directions and took a more scenic route ;)

Here is the first video (http://motorgen.com/vid/showphoto.php/photo/1217/limit/recent) and a link to the media thread. (http://www.motorgen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18268) Here are some random pictures:

It's always something, isn't it :)

Thanks for coming - it was good to see you again. How did you think the organization was? Better than the last time you came?

Its always been pretty organized, don't have much to say in that regard. We didn't have people acting or driving like idiots so that good. But then again, that hasn't happened the times I've gone. Kinda surprised on the outcome, I figured more people would show. Not sure if the trek out to the valley had anything to do with it. On another note, do you know Mark with the blue mach1 cobra?

I don't know him well, but he does post on the board. Do you need to get a hold of him?

No thanks, I have his contact info. Had a couple of nice runs after it was all said and done. Probably the best competition I've faced so far. Really fast, really cool guy.
