There i was minding my business and driving in the slow lane when next thing ya an old 80's Ford Crown Victoria just pulled out of it's parking spot and BOOM!! there goes my air bags and my front right side bumper.

All said and then...i have to fix my hood, my fender, bumper, my right door, control arm suspension is gone, windshield, the airbag rippped up my dashboard (gotta replace that), my front lights, let's just say my windshield wiper tank is MISSING...total estimate is around $7,000.

So until i get my car back...it will be easier to ease the pain by not reading all the new mods, etc....that you guys got.
I'm praying for a total cuz my car fux0red.

Thanks for rasing my insurance again!!!

Hahahaha.. just kidding.  You think you'll get a total for $7k of damage on a $15k car?  Not too likely I wouldn't think... but I dunno shit about anything!!

i dunno about your insurance company... but when i wrecked my car it was about $4-5k to repair but they went ahead and did it.  they said it was close and if they had to get new parts they were just goin to total it.  but they ended up findin a front clip off another red 240 (mine is black) and got the panels to fit pretty well.  their smart heads painted over the red paint though so now theres red pretty visible on the inside of the engine bay or when i get a chip...how nice.  if they would've given me a choice i would've just totalled the thing since it was close anyway but oh well.  it drives fine and the frame doesn't seem messed up, there is very little vibration in the steerin wheel cruisin at 100mph so i say they did a good job except for the paint (this was a Nissan body shop btw).  oh yea and i rear ended a minivan on ice going about 10mph, i guess i kind of went under the thing slightly so thats y it caused so much damage.  the minivan only had a couple scratches on its bumper and all it needed was to get a new bumper cover put on and painted for less than $600

I had the same accident but the girl ripped my whole front bumper out and left me one headlight- bent hood, smooshed left quarter panel and bent metal bumper.. total came to $7g and my insurance totalled it and I said take $500 out and I'll keep the car.. so they did and now I got my car a whole new front end with a complete new paint job, a body kit, new wing and lotsa other lil extra things -- worst part was waiting 5 weeks for my car!!! oh well- i'm happy now and her insurance company probably is killin her!(thats what she gets for hitting a 240!) hehe

blaqsilvia your insurance comp let you keep your car for $500? After they said it was totaled how did you get it back on the road aka how did dmv register it?
Any info about your situation would be very helpful to me. You can e-mail it to me if you do not want to post it. Thanks for the inital post of your accident.

O and what does anyone think about a forum that covers accidents? Just an idea since we seem to have a lot of them popping up. give some feedback about it and I hope no one else gets into an accident
