the s14 ka24de does not have the SCV butterflies.

EDIT: unless your running S13 KA24DE intake manifold, which you most likely are, than yes, you CAN remove the SCV butterflies and SCV solenoid. Did you you completely remove the EGR stuff? If so, remove the solenoid as well.

your running an s14 motor in your s13 with the s13 intake manifold?

then just keep the bottom half of the intake manifold on the motor and replace the top half with the s14 one.

ohh and do an egr search or emission search, this has been talked about a few times.

You take the rod out. I've read on here that you don't necessarily need to shut the holes, but I did.

If you still have the lower (or was it upper?) S14 intake manifold, use that instead.

you can keep it in. i pretty much just took off everything and left the rod in and never had a problem. If you take out the rod i prefer you weld the holes shut making sure there isnt a leak.

i just recently did this
you can leave the center holes open
but the one on the very end of the intake manifold where the actual valve was needs to be closed
i used quik steel on mine
but some prefer a legit weld either way that one is the only one that has to be closed.
