I know all about the kouki headlight conversion, but what if I just wanted to add projectors on my zenki. Check this out. http://onlineshowoff.com/images/features/27/01.jpg what would a fabrication like this cost me? heres another picture --->
http://onlineshowoff.com/images/features/27/02.jpg Thanks for the help in advance. I think it would be cheaper to do this conversion rather than a kouki conversion.

So far all Ive found out is that the owner used BMW E46 M3 headlights to do the conversion.

Very nice and unique retrofit. It will be cheaper than doing a front end conversion....but it will also be more time consuming. To start off you need to find some OEM HID projectors with ballast. They start off at $300+. It's also a good idea to get another set of Zenki headlights...just so you can work on those or incase you fuck up. Here is a site to give you a rough idea on what tools to use: http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/

The downside with that conversion is that there is still a lens in front of the projector lens, which reduces and interferes with light output. Its hard to say how much it effects the light, but I can definately say that its not "ideal."
The more stuff in front of your light, the worse it is. But, I am sure its gotta be better than stock. Kudos to the one who did that, looks like a pretty respectable upgrade.
I've tinkered with the 95-96 headlamps for quite some time now, maybe 3-4 years. I have spare projectors that I have attempted to mount in there but space is somewhat limited. If anyone in socal is interested in picking up this project, let me know. I have all the HID equipment needed to create a similar conversion (and yet with some added benefits!). We can probably remove some of the OEM lens markings in front of the projector so that the light output isnt as effected.

I thought the patterns were embedded into the plastic.

Wouldnt it be possible to use the European spec headlamps with the glass housing in order to "clear the way" for the light pattern. This way eliminating that wonderful yellow tinge to our h/l's?
or you can use thoes clear glass covers I cant find the link to who was selling them

that headlight conversion is on my friends car that is parked downstairs heehhe.. yeah the S14 isnt a problem at all due to a huge headlight housing.. you can stuff any projector of your freaking choice.. M3's a nice since they are widely available plus you can have bi-xenon.. and if you buy them all used the cost is about 400 bucks, then you have to fabricate away.. but the end result is sick comparing to stock or say the universal HID kits sold over the counter.. i.e. ballast and bulb.. yes the problem is that housing and the fact there is another glass behind the projector.. now i'm thinking about something like this but no projector will fit in s13 housing.. so basically i'd like to get someone to give me specs of S13 projector housing if possible, hopefully i can get fab that projector and switch the glass eye with one from higher end projectors in result getting a much sharper cut off and i'm sure it will have better coverage of light.. of course not nearly as good as OEM xenon headlight but sure will beat damn stock.. I could always stuff a whole projector in there and fabricate the rear of housing to accomodate longer projctor housing but this may not look OEM in the end.. any info on those headlights guys??
