Dentsport+Kognition = Nürburgring!!!

We recently put a 78" wing package together for our new dealer in Sweden for their Ultima GTR. Which is preparing to make an attempt in the next few weeks at Nürburgring for the production car lap record. To make a long story short, they emailed me for a good competent fabricator here that could fly over and pick up where their last guy left off. I don't know the details of what happened with the last fab guy. But i contacted two people that i knew could likely do the job with the same urgency as if it were their own track car they were prepping. Bill over at DSG was my top choice. So he is there this week getting it done. He is staying in a Boeing 747 converted into a hostel, which looks pretty damn nice. I am sure he will fill us in when he returns. I will update this thread as often as i get news and images back from Bill. I do not have alot of info on the car at the moment, but i will post or Bill will if he gets time. He is there for about 10 days. Here are some shots of the car from today.

I don't know the qualifications required that makes a car a production car. But i assume it starts with it being street registered and have some kind of volume production requirement. This car is street registered in Sweden. The Radical, which is also a British built car like the Ultima, currently holds the lap record for a production car at the ring.

It's too bad that carbon wheel maker (Dymag UK) went under last year. Rado told me that he bought 14K worth of them and never got them. They just took his money. :-/

Got this in my email box from Sweden tonite:
We have testrun it on the road today at about 750 hp and dude.....its quick. All the home made suspension, drive shafts, cv joints, rollbars, steering etc etc is working awesome!!! We did about 100 miles on the road and not leaking or anything. It had A LOT of trigger problems with serious misfire and startup problems but they are now all cured, took a while… =)
We probably had up to about 250-270 kph and running steady and fine. That’s at 1 bar. When we run 2 bar it will be 1000 hp.

A quick update here,
The car is buttoned up, and started testing at Poland's Tor Poznan racetrack. All day testing saw speeds of 175mph, and the car is really starting to shine with every tweak. Today the car had another great day of testing. The car will head out to Nurburgring from there to start the lap record attempt for fastest production car on street legal tires. Yokohama A408's. The wing has been running at the max angle of 18 degrees (optimum AOA), which really means that this car needs my new twin element profile i picked up from the BAR Honda yard sale from last racing season. :ddog:
At 175mph, the 76" wing on the car is putting down 1,300 lbs, of downforce, 145 lb's of drag and consuming 79 Hp from the motor. Keep in mind that the car has been only testing at 1 bar (750Hp), and will actually be turned up to 2 bar at the ring. :2f2f:
I was sent some secret high (very high Mp4) video clips of the pre production intro. They are using helicopters for some of the filming. So there are some serious interests in this car besides Red Bull.

Yes, after they finished the car... the owner wanted to take it to Monaco for some pimpin i guess. He busted a center lock on one of the wheels. So the car is stranded in Italy waiting for the replacement. Alx did send this to me yesterday, dyno results. :2f2f:
I think they are kind of pissed that they let him take the car to Monaco, but he does own the car, and is paying for everything, including Bill's work for 10 days and round trip flight. Not alot they can do. But i am pretty sure they are going to get directly to business once the car is back. it was a big unexpectd snafu. It is just way too much car for the owner to drive. He is a pro extreme skier, not a racecar driver.

Keep in mind that that second sheet where the power falls is from 2006. The 2010 result is higher and might not be doing that. I asked, and waiting to hear back. I am equally anxious as Bill surely is to get this pig in the air allready. :Ownedd:

I have no idea really. I will let you know as soon as i have some relevant news on this. I did text them today about it. And the last news was that the car had broken down in Italy somewhere. And now the car (being a street legal car) has go back to Monte Carlo where the owner lives to update the registration. Because it cannot come back thru Switzerland without registration. Just compounded complications from the sound of it.

Yes, they are still working on the car. The owner decided to take the car to Monaco for some flossing, and it broke down there. Had to order new parts, install them in Italy, and limp the car back to Sweden. I doubt anything will happen before spring at this point. Sorry guys. I got just as worked up over it as you did. :cj:

Nope, they just had some bad timing last year with some breakages. So they are taking this downtime opportunity to take some more weight out of the car, and a new carbon wide body kit. I can't show pics of it right now. They asked me not to. But it is sick. I think it was best that they went thru this anyway, because they were kind of rushing things, like flying Bill out there and such. You have to really plan this shit out if you are trying to break some kind of record.
