i was told this hose needs to be hooked up to the pressurized pipe instead of pre-turbo. what does it do and what happens if it isnt? it runs fine the way it is now (but i havnt boosted at all yet because it is running so rich).

That line is your idle air control and yes it does have to bee hooked up to boost
i recently had a ka-t and i had it hooked up to a nipple of of the charge pipe

i would but i dont have an extra nipple to hook the pip up to. how much flow does it need? could i just hook it up to a vacc line on the intake mani?

No. It's attached to the intake manifold. It runs to your Idle Air control valve.
It has to bolt to the cold pipe. It opens up at idle and allows air to bypass the TB when it's closed to keep the car idling. It's calibrated for the diameter of the tubing.
Is this custom intercooler piping? Have who ever made it for you ad a pipe onto it or get an S13SR cold pipe and make it work with your setup.
Does the car even idle? The major issue is it's hooked pre-maf. Letting unmetered air in at idle.

it idles great actually. it does run rich, but unmetered air would be the opposite of running rich, so thats why im confused about it. it starts right up and idles smooth though.
i guess the intercooler piping is custom, it was on the car when i bought it. im just trying to work out all the kinks.

and it's custom wrong you need to have that on the cold pipe. End of story.

yeah man, that IACV setup is just flat out wrong...
another problem....
I would run that crank vent to a preturbo location, but still post MAFS; or scavenge from the exhaust . Or at least put some sort of filter on it. I'm not a fan of open air crank systems. Its good to have a WOT vacuum source for blow by; helps those catch cans work.

We are talking about the IACV line not the PCV system intake.

I know... that's what the space indicates between my comments. I'll adjust it so its more clear.
