so I've got an s13 with an s14 ka24 swap and my idle on start up is jumping up and down between 500 and 1000 rev and the throttle response is sluggish. This started recently. Then theres if I clutch in and roll toward a little the motor nearly dies but so far has managed to save its self. Does not having an EGR valve have anything to do with this? Oh if this is major anyone in so cal recommend a shop to take it too. Im in long beach

you can check your maf. sometimes they get dirty and dont read right. i had this happen to me on my ka. changed the maf and everything worked great after. as far as not having and egr.. i dont think it should matter. ive seen online that they sell plates to actually cancel them out. (correct me if im wrong) thanks

try the maf.
and do some research man. it's a 240 a lot of people have the same issue so its out there. search it.

The EGR is used to recycle unburnt combustion mixtures and lowers combustion chamber temperatures.

Test your TPS sensor as well.
Check for dry-rotted/split vacuum lines.
