Well since the interpretation of the motorsports/skilled driving section was wrong and now all the events are in their regional spots i think you guys should just create an actual section for events.
I liked that it was in the motorsports section because you could see events going on in vegas, norcal, east coast, midwest, everywhere all at once. Easier to view then clicking each regional section to see what events are going on around the US.
just a suggestion.

Also under the Motorsports/ skilled driving link
Discussion for Organized Racing and motorsports and tips and techniques at becoming a better driver.
Would this not be drift events or grip events?
i think you mightve misinterpreted the rules.
and its been like that for years, why change it now? lol

^ i have to agree with Nieko on this...ASB has never been a "just SoCal" deal... they've always had people fly in from different regions for this event...
last yr they had people from like 4 other states...from the EAST...who didnt just come to spectate but to participate and actually Shipped there cars here for said event...
also to have a gathering of all those events in one place is great, whether to look at the media exposure of the vids and pics has always been an easy acess point in that one section...

Organized Racing refers to racing events put on by organizers following rules set forth by organizing bodies such as NASA, SCCA, etc.
The reason for the change is that the forum was being deviated from its original intent. At the time of its creation, locally organized motorsports events were few and far-between, and as such, did not create a great deal of clutter within the forum.
Now, every Tom, Dick and Harry are putting on their own flavor of event (which is pretty awesome), but it ends up drowning out the general motorsports discussion that should be taking place.

I agree - ASB does have a nationwide draw, but keep in mind that lately there have been regional ASB's as well.
I also agree that having a centralized place to look for/at threads about different events is convenient and nice.
I also think that promoting events within their respective region will lead to a greater sense of community within that region, so it's a bit of a trade-off.
For now, we're in the process of hashing it out and figuring out what is best. A webforum is not static. We're constantly evolving and shifting to meet the changing needs of our growing base of users.
Ultimately, we'll do what we feel is best for the majority of our members. It won't please everyone, but that's life. We'll do our best to be the best, but you'll have to be patient with us in the meantime.
