Guys,

I have PBM coilovers on my s14 and it seems they top out at -2.5 close to -3 camber for the front..is there any way to get a more camber? I've searched and I can't seem to find anything other than new front lower control arms that cost a grip or essentric bolts which seem to be not the good way to go..please help !

LCA's are your answer (I know you didn't want to hear that).

You can slot out the coilover mounting holes for the knuckles to give you a bit more camber if PBM isnt already slotted.

s14 LCAs are longer which makes more camber

Call me mr simple, but why would you need more than -3??

So If you do end up slotting the plates, this may help depending on the situation. I saw this in a mag I had a while back. Interesting mod IMO. (mainly for stability/ durability of the suspension peices though)

I want at least -3 degrees up front..its maxed at about -2.5

maybe i need to get it back on the alignment rack and just make sure all the other adjusting rods are set right

JUST MAKE SURE YOU PRESS IN BETTER QUALITY BEARINGS

This is key for a better army and for proper performance.

Here is mine after the conversion. They were originally ricer red from godspeed, but i had to hide them up:

they look awesome...but bad part is that im not really a do it yourselfer...let me ask my shop if they can do it. are the factory bearing that bad? would it be a waste of time/money to get the lower control arms and use the bearings it comes with?

They really are pretty shitty, that's for damn sure. Sure a shop could do this modification, but it will involve you also drilling your stock spindle out to 3/4, as the 'def modified arms' are designed in a way to level out your control arms to promote a better roll center. It's a bit overkill if you just want to be slammed and drive around. If you are into any sort of motorsport, it's a great way to go.

Regardless, -3 camber is still pretty rediculous for a street car, whats the purpose, other than fitting large tires?

I really wont know for sure until I get my new wheels in the next few weeks but main reason for trying to get more camber is primarly to fit larger wheels. My car is daily driver with -2.5ish camber currently. I think maybe my last set of wheels had a much tighter fit then my new ones I am getting in the next few weeks but won't know until then. If they clear the fender better then my last wheels then I will be fine with the camber I have.

Last front wheels were
17x9.5 high face 0 offset

new are
18x10 super low face +5 offset

I was thinking getting control arms just to get -.5 degree more camber was overkill just to fit the wheels so I may just slot the bottom mount bracket on the coilovers to get that little bit if I need.

Heres pic of the front...best ones I got so you can see how close/flush it is to the fender. It actually ate away at my passenger side.

Sorry the wide angle lense makes my front end look super long..

also thinking about using a 225/35 or 40 series to fit the new fronts...we will see. then i wont have to notch out my coilovers or do anything. i have about -2.75 camber in front in the pics

with that strut tower notching.. is that still compliant with FD pro am? i know your not supposed to mod coilover mounting and suspension mounting.

Couldn't you just elongate the camber slots? I did that to my superdrifits and it was fine.

But honestly, you don't need more than 3*.

increasing the track width (new arms) won't help with wheel fitment anyway
