Loud Screeching sound.

Every time I turn on my car it makes this nasty screeching sound at first it didn't really bother me cause it would only do it when it was cold but now it does it all the time like when I'm shifting gears, neutral, down shifting, etc. the sound is annoying it seems to be coming from my belts/pulleys/alternator/etc anyone know what exactly it is? also my battery light turned on when the problem started getting worse any input on this? :wtf:

one of ur belts is to tight or loose.that might be the porblem

Alternator or belts. Check the condition of all your belts, and check the alternator make sure its charging appropriately.

yup sounds like a possible belt also Alternator?
i had the same issue in my old S13 but it was more like a winding/grinding noise but it was my throw out bearing lol

All the belts are new I replaced them when I changed my water pump. I'll take it apart and check the Alternator. Thanks for the help!

Usually when the battery indicator comes on the alternator is going bad. If your alternator belt is too loose it may throw this light on as well. If you're sure the belts are tightened down good (not too tight, but snug) then see how many volts the alternator is putting out, take a voltmeter to the battery terminals. Should be around 13.5V (with the car running).

Naw the sound is always the same sometimes it will fade away but when I go to a light and put it in 1st again it starts to do the screeching sound. I'll be taking it all apart tomorrow.
