Either rent a puller from Kragens or get creative if you cant get a puller. I used to get a drill and drill the bearing on 2 sides to collapse it in. Just gotta be super careful not to drill too far in and damage the crank.

Man we just hit it from either side with an air chisel and it pops right out.

Do yourself a favor, rent a puller and slide hammer. I had a HELL of a time getting mine out. You just have to wedge it in there just right and BAM get that bitch out.
Good luck, I don't suggest drilling it out.

They have a large steel spacer that the torque converter goes into...not so much a bearing as a receiver.

youre in long beach? dude just get a slide hammer and pilot bearing puller from autozone. TRUST. ride your bike there, skateboard, drive moms van, whatever. that bearing was a bitch to get out. im sorry project car-great article, but i was not able to get it out with a pipe wrench.

Harbor Freight. Blind Hole Puller. Like $30.00, made specifically for pilot bearing removal and comes with the slide hammer. It'll knock it out like a champ.

Wet toilet paper FTMFW!!!!! Get some wet tp stuff it in the hole. Grab a 1/2 or 3/8 drive extension(whatever fits). beat the extension in. Stuff in more toilet paper and beat till it comes out. Fluid power for the win dammit! I had mine out in 5 minutes. No trips to the parts store for a puller that may or may not work and it's free if you jack tp from the gas station!

use an 11 MM socket and a 1/4 in extension...put the socket on the extrension backwards...fill the hole with bearing grease..tap the socket in and bushing/bearing will come out....
