Ok so the problem i am having with my car occurs ONLY when am under 2K rpms and on partially on the throttle. During this situation the car bogs really bad, i can even hold the pedal still at partial throttle and watch the rpms stumble until the car the stalls. My safc also reads 0% during this situation but it reads 0-100% just fine.

Its hard to describe my problem exactly by typing but hopefully someone has had a similar issue and come give me some solutions

BTW

I have already searched forums diligently

i have already swapped the TPS and the same thing happens

also my car seems to break up around 6.5k rpms as though i am hitting the rev limiter, even I know my rev limit should be around 7.5k rpms

my mods are z32 maf, safc neo, FMIC, and exhaust

key points:
-problem only occurs under partial throttle
-only under 2k rpms
-swapped TPS (and checked the voltages)
-car drives fine other than this issue
-breaks up around 6.5k rpms (feels like a cut as if i hit the rev limit)
-safc reads 0% throttle when partially on throttle

any help is appreciated thanks!

did you check your timing?

Well when the engine was swapped about a year ago the timing was set correctly per FSM...since then i havent altered it

the car ran fine then, no issues

is timing something that should be monitored regularly?

you should also moniter your timing. Is there another tune on your safc?? Like did you buy it new or used??

Well previously i had a safc blue (ver1). I got that tuned by sean Ivey @ Iveytune here in New Jersey

i had that safc for about four years and the tune for about two years. earlier this year that safc just stopped working. Im not sure what happened and so i purchased the NEO used from another memebr on this board and transfered over the same numbers from the tune i had previously to this unit

I'll double check on the timing, I just dont see why the timing would get out of wack all by itself

I dont think it will be your timing safc's dont even controll timing. Maybe the points on the two safc's r different so when u transfered the values they r not in all the same spots.

Lets see, old SAFC installed and the car worked fine. Old SAFC took a shit and now you've installed a new SAFC; car no longer works as it is suppose to. Assuming nothing out of the ordinary has changed since the swapping of SAFC's I would come to the conclusion that the settings in your current SAFC are not correct.

If the SAFC is set correctly, then I might suggest a MAF or Coilpack / spark issue.

depending on what the settings were on the previous SAFC ver1 actually advances your timing depending on the percentile you have set on the negative side... you might want to look it up... thats why early KA-T setups that ran SAFCs only usualy blew...I forgot how it would calculate the degree to percent adjustments. Try looking it up..

its definately the safc. theyre not really the best way to tune. i have the apex s-afcII and if its not set right i can experience the same things youre talking about.
