View Full Version : Shops in so cali to pick up a sr20det
I've talked to some guys and looked on various websites 240 sites got. My question is, is there any more sr20 shops in the southern california area that carry the clip and are reputable? I'm going to do the swap myself so any recommendations would be great. Thanx!

I would say phase2motortrend. It may be a bit high, but Wayne will take good care of you. For some reason they haven't been picking up the phone lately, though..anyone know why?

signal, hella costly.
just curious you know how much they actually purchase the clips for? I ask because if it's like... 2000 bucks for a s14 sr20det and tehy sell it for 3000 i'd rather have a friend in japan send me one.

There are a gaggle of places in SoCal (thats where most of the motors come from in the first place). The only ones I can think of off the top of my head:
ABCD: supposed to have the best prices but I have never dealt with them before.
Cartune/Neishlin: Heard nothing but bad things about. No direct experience, but whatI have heard is enough to make me want to stay away.
JDM Recycler: No comment. Would not deal with for motors. Anything else is ok though.
phase2motortrend: Heard nothing but good things about those guys. Recent experience w/ parts was great.
Signal Auto: You get what you pay for. Great, but $$$.
That's all I can think of ATM. As always, do some research (USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!), ask around, and visit the shop/look at the merchandise before you go through with anything.
Good luck!
i wouldn't go to cartuen if my life depended on it.

I don't see why you wouldn't... the owner of JDM Recycler is co-owner (afaik) of ABCD, and the two may as well be one shop. ABCD makes use of JDMRecyclers warehouse, and JDMRecycler does virtually all of its work at the ABCD garage. the garage/warehouse are about a 2 minute drive away from each other, in South El Monte.
That said, I would deal with either or both of them for my swap needs. I have bought items from $30 up to $1500 from JDM/ABCD, and they've always given me nothing but the best service. (I deal mostly with David from JDMRecycler, but see Michael from ABCD occasionally too... and Jacky all the time. :)
FWIW, Brian Norris gets all his work done at ABCD/JDMRecycler.
