ok so i want to turbo my ka24de right after i rebuild it now i just dont know what to swap out i know u have to do low compression pistons
but what else do i need to swap out pistons pistons rods i also have a aftermarket head gasket and i want to buy a gasket kit
and if u know of a turbo thats nice and kinda cheap im gonna peice together a turbo kit myself (or at least try)

lets be realistic. Cheap turbo builds for KA's end up in a new motor.
dont be cheap, buy quality parts so you dont have to do it twice. If you cant afford it keep your hooptie NA till you can afford a decent setup where the turbo blades wont shatter on start up fucking your whole motor.
who the fuck said you need low comp pistons?
FYI leaf blowers do wonders for NA setups and work just like turbo's.
AND they bolt right the fuck on.

More than likely a cheap turbo will fail. IF things break, it would just get shot out the exhaust.
A tune is the most important thing on any engine, turbo or not.
OP, search for t25, sr turbo elbow, sr intake piping, sr sidemount piping, sr stock 370cc injectors, a log manifold of some sort, oil sandwich adapter, and you will need to weld a bung for the oil return line, and tap off of the oil filter for a feed line.

I see that you are new, Welcome to the forum. I know how easy it is to just make a new thread asking your question, but there are some people on here that are going to get really heated when you create a thread like this one, and they will let you know too. Searching can go a long way in this forum, Im pretty sure that every question possible about a 240 has been asked on this forum, just do a little searching next time. The long term members really hate it when new guys come on here and do this, its cluttering up the forum.
Just trying to give you some helpful insight.

ok thanks for the help guys, i looked around and im new into all this stuff so i could find a turbo kit and all that, but i figured i would ask for a second opinon maybe some1 knows where to get a holset or greddy or turbonetics turbo for cheap and i forget who said u need low compression pistons and i also looked on ka-t.org but ill look again and im looking to spend 2-3gs on everything i know people make crap turbo kits for like 900 but i figured get all the piping and intercooler for cheap then get a awesome turbo, blow off valve and wastegate and get everything else i need like injectors fuel pump and other stuff

Did you read what I put? I said what you NEED already.
You can make this build as baller/budget as you want.
But if you are pouring money into an engine, an SR would be a better way to go.
What are your REALISTIC power goals?
A tune is key to having a reliable engine.
You don't have to have a built engine to go ka-t. Just an engine in good shape and a nice tune. That is key.

KA-T . ORG has a Forum Index. Read the "hall of Fame" section. All of it. Then find a few members in 'featured rides' from the main page, read everything they posted.
Then after about a year, start your build.
I'm 2 years in mine, still don't have turbo, manifold, fuel or ECU. Built block and Head v3 crower Cams etc. All shimmed up. My costs are about $5000 into the car (this includes suspension, wheels, and minor stuff) Will be close to $10,000 when done, but hey... beats buying a Porsche.

I refuse to keep track of the price anymore. I got this latest car in 06 and for the last almost 3 years I have been researching and buying things. It should all finally come together totally in the next month and be tuned. Just take your time and do it right.

and a ams rebuild kit that comes with pistons that are 8:8:1 whats better
and has any ever heard of a cada head gasket for a ka24de and is it any good?
the guy gave it to me with my car along with most of the stuff to do a ka24de swap and a 5spd swap

You are really stupid (not holding back). Read more on KA-T website. Everything you need to know is there. If I were you, I would not get stock bore pistons. Buy your pistons first, 89.5mm or 90mm and take them with rods, crank, block to a machine shop and say you want these pistons to match the block. Stock pistons may have too much piston-wall clearance and slap.
EVERYTHING ELSE YOU NEED TO KNOW IS ON KA-T. JUST READ, STOP ASKING QUESTIONS.

This is what I say you should do, fuck turboing your car. Just sand and primer your car, get an ebay exhaust, roll and pull your stock fenders but keep your stock wheels, then remove your intake resonator so it SOUNDS like you have an intake. After completing all those tasks, clutch kick your way to victory.
