95 SE KA24DE, stock except for intake and exhaust
Recently my ignition quit starting my car.... I fixed it with a switch running straight from my battery to my starter. Replaced battery cable ends when i did this. And the relays where not bad, also bypassed the Clutch safety switch.
1. Every so often i will turn the car off and it will completely turn power off to my clock and radio, by this i mean i have to reset my clock and redo my presets. I have an amp and two 12s hooked up right now.
2. While riding down the interstate cruising at 75, I can flash the high beams and the car loses like 300 RPM. But it will not do this again unless i wait about 2 min. Checked the alternator, everything was fine.
Any help is greatly appreciated

I already don't like the sound of this. why would you bypass the ignition system instead of figuring out what is wrong with the car? or is there more to this story than you are telling us?

Have you checked to see if the battery is bad? sounds like your battery is taking a sh*t. From experience all i gota say is if you dont know what the F you doing then dont try and fix it. Suck it up and let a pro take care of this for you. Trust me youll spend more time and money trying to figure it out.

do you still have the red connector that comes off the positive post of your battery?
If you do you might wanna check that.
Same thing happened to me...turn car off, all electronics won't come back on, blah blah blah.
Problem ended up being that that red connector had begun to melt and wasn't making good contact all the time.
Worth looking at ya know.

i had the same prob with mine. :snoop:
as far as loosing power, it has to be either the battery, or the alternator.
check the plug that plugs into the alternator. mine was kinda loose, seemed like it was plugged in, but it wasnt. thus my alternator wouldnt charge.

Check your interior lights fuse (think thats the name of it)
mine was blown and was causing this same thing

Its my DD, I cant keep drift starting it wherever I go, that is why I bypassed it, and I am balls deep into trying to find out what is wrong with the ignition.
The problem with the power has seemed to have went away, I had taken my cd player out and was checking how I had it hooked up, nothing was out of the ordinary, put it back in, did the same with my amp, again, nothing out of place. But this morning, i didnt have the power delivery problem, nor did I lose power to my clock or radio when i cut the car off. Dont know what I did, but it looks like i fixed that side.
As for the ignition, i havnt had a chance to check the voltage on it, but does anyone have any idea what kind of readings i should be getting on it? I have isolated it as the ignition because the relays are good, the clutch safety is jumped to be NC, and the starter and solenoid are both good. If i missed something to check let me know please.
But thanks for the help so far
