Well the time has come for me to choose between keeping 2 cars and unfortunately I have to let the Evo go.

I have an 2005 Silver Evo 8 with a full 9 mivec swap. Car started off as a 2005 Evo 8 but since Mivec is the s*** I decided I'd turn it into a 9. It is a 5 speed, not the dreaded 6 speed.

Vehicle has 48,582 on the dot. Title shows 17 Actual miles. The title is a CLEAN title as well.

Here's some goodies it has:

Evo 9 Mivec Motor
5 Speed Trans
Leather Evo 9 Recaro interior
HKS Hi-Power Exhaust
Competition Clutch Stage 4 clutch kit- very streetable, easy in traffic as well
Evo 9 Taillights
Aftermarket front bumper
OEM 9 wheels painted black
Carbon Fiber Trunk (I also have the oem stock trunk with it)
Carbon Kevlar Door Sills ( I have the stock ones as well)
and best of all SUNROOF.

Everything from a 9 has been swapped including the fake carbon fiber trim pieces in the interior dash.

Asking $18,500 o.b.o. money talks if you want to negotiate.

Nice car. I had an 8 as well. Who did the MIVEC swap? Seems odd that you'd swap motors for a 40BHP difference. Did you also swap the ADC over and the front diff? Interested. Just concerned with some of the means behind it and who did the swap.

I did the swap. No ACD as the lines and other necessities to make it work aren't in the 8.
Biggest thing people forget is the relays next to the injector box on the 9's. Without those relays you won't get the Mivec to work with the swap.

Also it's running a 9 engine harness to make things less complicated and make sure everything works.

Notice the Rb26 now 2.7 R33 running the twin GT30's. Fully built RB27, HKS Stroker kit, Jun Crankshaft.

I think I can handle the 8 swap lol. But thanks for the concern. :-)

Rb26 motor isn't for sale. It's currently in my R33.

Not saying you can't handle a swap even though that is a common swap in Skylines. Just seems odd you'd swap everything from a IX for meaningless miniscule gains. MIVEC usually isn't present in the under 10-second cars. Good luck though.

uhh, i bought a new 2005, and they came with the active center differential from the factory. they also had MIVEC on the exhaust cams, IIRC. how long have you had the car for? what happened to the old motor?

Old motor's sitting here. Putting it into a Evo 4 for a customer.

ACD came in 2005 and 2006. That's why I'm wondering why it's not there. VCD was also in the EVO VIII. Seems a little odd.

EDIT: Pictures of the motors VIN with your name and date + the cars VIN with name and date, please.

My thoughts exactly. Sounds like a non-reported accident but I'm not going to jump to conclusions even though the driverside fender/headlight/hood don't even match unless it's a shitty picture.
