My s13 has power steering fluid. The pump works, its crculating fluid, lines are adjusted right. But it still feels stiff, when i turn the wheels at idle. Where is the problem?

now does it have power steering Fuild or ATF? These system use ATF.

Did you just replace something in the system?

If the system was drain at all refer to the FSM on the proper way to bleed the air out of the system.

Im using power steering fluid. I hav'nt replaced any thing in the system. Ive never drained it. Ive looked at the FSM, and it says to replace the whole unit if problems like this occur. I think the seals in my rack are gone. Oh well, ill just get it rebuilt or get a new one.

same problem that happend with me but mine was pretty much gone but since u didnt get atf you need to bleed it and then get atf and it will work fine but if you want to replace it i can sell you all the parts cause it told me to replace it and when i bought my car it came with all the parts to replace it but i fixed it with the fluid

?? So Atf will get my rack to work properly? Being that its a 91 240, with the Hicas system. Could the seals in my rack be messed up? Or is it as simple as using Atf?

Hmmm. OK. Illl make the switch to Atf. What are the signs of rack & pinion failure? Just wanna know, in case i need to get another one.

it starts to leak at the ends. where the boots cover the tie rods.

Well its not leaking were the boots cover the tie rods. I still believe it may be the internals that are busted.
