Hi guys.. Do u guys change OEM radiator out to aftermarket ones?

Is it a must? if country is hot? and occasionally playing with sliding only?

what do u think abt HPI radiators?

thanks

you dont have to. ive been playing with slide in 105F degree weather and my stock radiator handles it like a man :)

in my opinion, it does not hurt to upgrade your radiator from OEM to aftermarket even if you its just a daily driver with no track/playing/sliding. koyo radiators seem to have the most positive reviews based on dependability, quality & general popularity.

I have a Mishimoto radiator and its holding its own extremely well. example its been like 95 degrees and extremely humid and I have yet to have an overheat/fluid loss with my s14 sr. Mishimoto is basically a chinese made koyo, exactly the same core sizes. I also run stock sr shroud with cupler fan but with a upgraded radiator. Its hard to mess up a radiator to be honest, dont be afraid to go unheard of aftermarket cause the worst case is it leaks after the install and you get a new one to replace it as long as you dont bend the fins and such (use cardboard taped to your core to avoid accidental bumps).

he means tape cardboard over the fins of the radiator so you don't puncture it or mess up the fins.

Also, when you change the radiator, make sure everything is ducted. Meaning make sure you fill in all the gaps around the shroud when its sitting on the radiator. You want to make sure the fan will pull as much air thru the radiator and not around it.

if you can, do it.
upgraded rads are always better coolin the the oem stock.
Not to say the oem stock does its job fine. Just better security the better ya? if you got the money and plannin on upgrading, then why not? doesnt hurt ya, only helps ya :)
Koyo are kinda like the universal one that everyone goes after ... but i guess any aftermarket one would do fine as long as its not broken haha.
I ran koyo on my sr'd coupe and it worked great. i have a mustang rad on my fastback ... it works fine lol.

If you increase your water to glycaholl ratio and use some "water wetter" you'll have some good results.

when i upgraded my radiator, my temps dropped about 8 degrees,
then changed out my thermostat, dropped another 14
