Some of you may have noticed that I havent been on here too much for the last few months. The reason is is that Ive been spending alot of time making money at my new job as a car salesmen in Nor Cal. I really had NO idea how much money we make and Ive got a ton of cash now. So since im living at home still and dont have ANY bills Ive decided to treat myself to a new car. Keep in mind while you read this that I still have my s13 and love it I also have my beater car the Escort. The escorts gonna be replaced as it is the grocery getter. So heres what Im looking at:

#1 a 97-98 240sx
pros: awesome car, not too much cash and sexy
cons: have an s13, dont want to take this one apart but know I probably will

#2 Suburu WRX sti
Pros: utility, AWD, Mudding, sexy, fast
Cons: most expensive of all and pricey insurance

#3 92-95 Dodge Viper, really alot cheaper than you think
Pro: MY DREAM CAR, need I say more
Cons: more insurance than I really want to pay since Im only 19 kinda like flushing money down the toielt for insurance (insurance is required to drive in CA)

#4 Skyline (havent decided which one since I want to import it myself)
Pros: Sexy, awesome, unique, not too pricey
Cons: PARTS!! and legal issues

So this are my considerations to replace my little beater, have to drive a sexy car when your a salemen. but in all seriousness consider each choice and its pros and cons. I really cant decided. Thanks for the help fellas.

DONT get a viper
for oen reason: you'll worry A LOT bout it when you go out. i knew of a guy who had a viper, its just stressful.

same goes for a GTR...its just not worth the stress headache and increased security and such

get STi. sweet car and looks great. performs wonderfully!

I say you go with the r32 gtr. 1)not as many people know what it is so they wont bug you as much. 2)doesn't take too many mods (ie money) to make it the quickesy car of the bunch. 3) it is just a beautiful car. Just my opinion though. take it for what its worth (squat)

Go with the STi. Like dousan said the viper and the skyline will be a pain when it comes to lurking eyes.

But if you don't want the STi go with a skyline R32.

Only reason why i don't mention the s14, is cuz you already have one, and I like zenkis better anyway :D

Personally, if I were in your shoes and I speak from experience..

I would buy a 2002 Camry for around 12G to have a damn nice car (they have a killer stock sound system) to last you for a daily driver for many many years and insurance is so cheap on them. Great comfortable classy cars for the price. I would love to have one.

Then I would dump 12K in the S-13 and make it outrun all but the strongest porsches and Lamborginis. I would really make it perfect, a sleeper and running high 10's. It would also be reliable and comfortable enough to be a daily driver. I would keep the escort for a parts running car.

If not that, I would be most pleased with a 94-96 Vette coupe.

If you have not driven one, you should...just read the owners manual first to get familiar with what you can do with it. Good used ones come with the video tape, provided when new. The second most fun I have ever had in a car is the Corvette. I had a ZR-1 (mercury marine engine) but the regular LT-1 is very cool. Not much can touch you stock.

Well anyway, that is what I would do.

Yes they do, I really wanna just steal the speakers out of my parents camry and put em in my car, but I would never hear the end of thier b*tching.

Camrys are great, but I wouldnt suggest it for him, especially when his choices are Skyline, STi, and Viper.

MM:drool: ZR1, love those cars, and want the rims so bad, but stupid 5 lug

i have a friend in San Jose who wants to sell his Viper...i forgot what year, but its an R/T 10....
lemme know if you are interested

There's a guy that works at a Stevens Creek dealership that just got his R32 in a few weeks ago...that would make about 4 Skylines in the Bay Area...

have you considered a new EVO?

there is also the new 350Z and the G35 coupe
the new Accord V6 Coupe is nice..
Acura TSX is nice

the S14a?b? is going to run you about 5-10K.. you could always just put the front end on your existing car..

also another thing.. for kids who are making money young.. you don't want to put yourself in hole too much.. i know allot of guys who got out of college got a 60K job got a beemer and then got laid off few months later.. watch ur ars..

In all honesty, skylines really arent that easy to import and legalize. I dont know about you, but to me, paying 35k or more for a 10 year old or higher GT-R is absurd when for that same amount of money you can drive off with a nicely equiped R34 over on the mainland. Also theft is a big issue. People might just steal it for the engine and sell it. A skyline would make a good profit. Im not sure how you would deal with insurance with a car like this? anyone know?

Viper is gonna be a bitch on your wallet with maintance, insurance, gas. im preaty sure theres other **** to watch out for but cant think of any.

The STi is really a sweet car. Couple things i dont like its that it only comes in one color. WTF:wtf: I believe the only reason it makes more power than the Evo is cuz the engine is boosted higher. I think the Evo is a better buy.

The S14 would be the best choice. I mean what more could you ask for, if you got the cash. just get a new engine and mildly tune it. Youll be making good HP and a good looking car. Good reliability no wild insurance hike. Also its the most sexy of em all.;)

Viper: If its your dream car, you should get it! Nuff said.

I can't get my dream car; its not street legal in the US. sniffle.

R32: It's my street-legal dream car. ;) I'd get one if I could. Just a couple more years of saving money... :P

S14: You already have a S13...

STi: Lots of power but the EVO handles BETTAR?!

EVO VIII: Look at the dealer markups... nuff said.

Methinks you should go after the Viper; if not get the R32. Just import it yourself; You can get a nice stock one for $5-6k in Japan, taxes/ship/etc will run you mebbe $1k +, I would just assume $10k total to get the car over, $15k to MotoRex to make it street legal... $25k for R32. Sounds good to me (and sure beats $35k +)

Thing is you need to go there/get someone to do it for you, which adds $$$ to total.

As far as having to worry -- if you have a garage, a good alarm system (I mean, good... try four air horns, one on each side of the car, one in the cabin and one under the dash), an autolock for the clutch, kill switch you're fine.

If all else fails, there's always good old LOJACK. :D

Good luck dude

get the viper

I know the prices are starting to drop...maybe on the car I dont know about insurance...

94 or 95 Viper...Mmmmm....

Lurking eyes?? Whatever

Nicest out of all you listed...

Need I say....Ahem....450 horses!

Well if I had boat loads of cash...

Dont think about skylines unless you moving to japan. yeah 10k to buy on there... but fuk loads to import and legal here...

Viper is cool looking but pointless...

97-98 240sx you have one but you could always get another and mod one out.

The new WRX well I guess that would be the one to choose.

You could always import a new S15 Silvia. or a slightly older one.

Get hte Viper, you now its the one you want. Daily drive your S13 if your worried about the haters.

Get the WRX STI....my goodness....I love that car. :)

But nothing beats the G35 Coupe :boink:

I would honestly go with the 240sx. Insurance would be a lot cheaper than an STi, a Viper or a Skyline.

I know you don't want to mess with this one, but instead I'd make the S13 your daily driver (remove turbo parts and sell for cash) and start modding your kouki S14... With the money you saved from the Skyline, Viper, or STi, you could have your Skyline engine, be faster than a Viper, and handle better than an STi! You basically get all 3 in one!

Check out this kouki S14...sexy as hell!!!!!

If you're honestly thinking about going with the sti don't buy a new one. I hear that they dynoed it and on 91 grade gas at 5000 rpm it knocks and pings like crazy. I personally wouldn't want to always have to put race gas in that car, but that's just me.

I think you should get the viper...I've always had a huge crush on those cars. I wouldn't reccomend anything illegal in the u.s. I'm already having a hell of a time just trying to get my sr20 smogged (can anyone help me with this?), imagine how much of a headache it would be to get a car legalized.

I want an s15 so bad that it hurts, but I won't do it because I don't want to have to deal with legalizing it.:wtc:

aaww your shutting out your s13!! hehe.. i would find an FD or an FC and put money into them... or turn a 95 q45 into a vip or summin..

you want a fast car? Get a Porsche 944 Turbo (just like 240). Best handling coupe in the world. With 260hp to the wheels stock its fast. With a 3.0L TT 966 engine which will run you about 5-7k you will have a damn fast car.

-Viper: Tough street car to drive with all that power.

-Skyline: nuff said

-STI: get and evo

-S13: Id rather have a 944T but I'm too poor

97-98 240 = pimp sh*t...I love mine, and couldn't imagine life without her...and with that extra cash you have, you can make her look exactly how you want....

OR the 350Z.....A friend of mine has one, and I can't get enough of that damm car, SOOOO smooth...

I would stay away from STi's and Evo's....every rich kid graduating high school will have one from mommy and daddy.....

Those are my opinions, I like to be different, and I enjoy people asking "what kind of car is that?!?!"...never gets old...

i think its odd that an m3 hasnt come up yet...

anyway im personally getting a 94-95 bmw 850csi. great car, has every creature comfort, looks to kill, and fast as hell, and i wouldnt be too worried about it getting stolen...

and they only cost about 24-26k for a perfect low mileage one...

and they have sweet widebody kits for them (look in the pic)

sweet jesus, we're the same age and you can afford cars like these, i couldn't be more envious.

but have you thought about a MKIV Supra? sexy as hell, fast stock, BPU+ it and its wicked fast!

Invest the money on something else (ie retirement vehicles, annuity, etc.) You can still use it at a later time plus the money made w/ interest.

Plus, Vipers look like big clown shoes. :)

First off Id like to thank everyone for the replies. Heres the things I noticed though. #1 I already have a 350z in my garage too, probably should have said that (dads though). #2 I think its odd that the Sti is getting pooped on so much. I need to go test drive one when I get back from San Deigo. #3 My s13 is pretty bad *** alreay, so i figured im pulling the 240 out of the mix.

The skyline is also out of the running people. For 2 reasons #1 parts avalibilty. #2 I LIVE IN STOCKTON!!!! more cars are stollen here daily than rosie eats doughnuts

So ive gotten it down to the viper and the STi. Im not worried about creature comforts or any of that BS. If thats what I was worried about id keep the escort and call it a day.

My sales manager brought somthing to my attention though, Seeing as how I work for dodge, I can get a SRT4 at cost. So Im debating if I want to add that to the running.

I love you guys help me out.

Ran side by side my boys SRT4....nice. If its its really good pricing, I would deff. love to have an SRT, I dont care if it is a Dodge. Now if its ANYWHERE neare 25k (hope not) go get your Evo, just because.

Hehe, so true. I dont really like the style of the early incarnations, although the new ones really look sweet. Bottom line, if you really have the cash, go for it. over here, ive only seen a viper at the tracks and it ran against a 5.0 mustang and a RX-7 and it got smoked. i think it ran 12secs and the 5.0 was running 10s and the RX hit 9sec. They do nasty burnouts though!;)

Are you using the S13 as a track car??? If you are I would just get the Viper! YAAAAY! Then you can wonder why your track car is slower then your street car! :p Unless you plan on putting money into it to make it faster(or keep it legal for whatever class you'd run). Whatever you choose make sure to post pics when you get it! From your choices I would enjoy seeing any of them! :D

If your work at the Dealership slows down...will you still be able to afford the payments/insurance ? ? always keep that in mind. From family members that have been in the car business....Job security isn't always there. You wont have to whore urself out to pay for an s14.....I'd go w/ that. Good luck

Hypersh1ft240 is completely right. If I'm a car salesman with a steady income, I would go with the G35 coupe. But are not not going to be eating lobsters everyday, so with those day with a hamburger go with the S14, is a very nice car and completely different than the S13 all around. GOOD LUCK! :D

ah...WRONG! It comes in blue, black, white and silver. Evo has a boost of 19lbs i believe and the sti boosts at something like 16 or 17. And the Sti is a better car. But if your lookin for those 12 second slips with minimal mods than go for the evo. My dream car would be the Koenigsegg, but thatll never be a reality, so I would just have to settle for an mkiv.

Youre wrong on this too...the sti runs less boost than the evo stock.
Evo -- 271-hp @ 19 psi of peak boost
STI -- 10 psi (i think) ... max of 14.5 stock
Alot less. Check your facts man.

Oh and i would pick the STI if i had the cash. If not go with the S14.

normal wrx plus $10k in mods . . . you get less worry of theft, less dealer markup, fast as you can stand to go, AND a stereo! Insurance might be lower than STi too.

Have you guys considered the Mazda RX-8? Seen a bunch arrive at the docks a few weeks ago...sweet car, looks a little strange but probably will get used to it :D. Looks like a good blend of style, performance, and $$$ value.

But with the original list I'd go with the S14. Now thats my dream car...in terms of practicality.
