This is a 4 star **** project, I only have my 2 star ** badge...lol

Thanks guys....Eric

truthfully, you actually could do this.

You need, metric socket sets, floor jack, 4 jack stands, concrete driveway or garage, lighting.

Steps:

Take out the shifter.

4 bolts at rear of drive shaft, remove. Two bolts at center d shaft support, remove, pull drive shaft out of tranny.
Unhook your battery.

With car on jackstands, top setting, put the floor jack under the rear of the tranny and remove slave cylinder, and tie it to something so it does not hang by its hose, remove the top bolts first with long extention and universals and do the starter bolts second, unhook and drop the starter, then all of the other bolts. It will be hanging on the guide pins and the transmission bracket (mount). Remove all the wires going to the tranny and tie them off somewhere. Remove the transmission bracket and tranny damper...and with the jack under it..Slowly roll it away from the engine. Good to have an extra set of hands doing that..to guide and balance.

Remove all clutch bolts...you will need to tap the wrench with a hammmer to break them loose as the engine will want to turn...and once you take them off, the clutch and plate is ready to come off...careful to hold it so it does not fall on the last bolt.

This is the half way point, inspect the flywheel to make sure it is
in good shape and not grooved up or it will need to be removed and shaved. Take the bearing off the front of the transmission and replace it.

Next, bolt the new clutch and pressure plate up to the flywheel and using the pilot tool, line up the disc with the crankshaft spline and tighten all bolts.

Just install the new bearing on the tranny and then put all this back reversing the order.

First time, it will take most of the day. I have seen the process done in less than an hour from start to finish.

You need light, and extra set of hands, the tools and a good slab.

Take your time, think of the feeling you get when you say you did it yourself and all the money you saved. If you don't have tools, buy them. You will use them a lifetime. Don't be scared but have someone with some experience with you helping.
\
Above all, make sure the car is secure on the jackstands.

If I missed anything fellows, be sure to add it.

Also, if you really don't feel like tackling this job...most good gas station mechanics can do it for around 300.

Go to any gas station with a lift and ask questions. Most mechanics at gas stations are pretty good with this procedure. I would trust most of them as it is nuts and bolts, not sensitive electronics or beauty areas.

Gotta know who you used...a local shop? I'm curious, mainly - But I do a lot of work on S14s here in Gainesville, and know most the guys who drive/race them in this area...

(I usually do clutch jobs for $120 [labor], if you want to make the drive...)

Yep - I know Garrett...

And I put a Centerforce DF into your car, correct?

I thought by saying 'it was a nightmare' meant the experience, like you got ripped off...hehe. I see... (you meant like it was a big project...).

Let me know if you want me to do this one...I can do it on weekends only.

And as for good price - $30/hr = cheap for you, decent rate for me, and I never mind wrenching on S14s...

And yeah, the CF clutches aren't the greatest in my experience - It's been what, 1.5years since I put that in...?
