Hello..
I don't post here much, as I usually mainly deal with the FWD Sentra/200sx chassis. I own a small performance shop in Southern Louisiana (www.forcedinductionracing.com). I've done a few S13 SR20DET swaps, but I've been looking at options for my S13. I had originally decided to go with the SR20, and build it up to make around 450whp. Then, after a trip to San Diego, and seeing McKinney's RB25DET swap, I thought my mind was made up on that. But, months later, I've talked to a few respectable tuners, and I've decided to go with the KA24DE and turbo setup. My goal is to make around 400-450whp, and I assume the TQ numbers will be up there as well given the bore/stroke. I've searched around for a few weeks, and I've gotten mixed opinions on the KA. I know that block and crankshaft are very strong.. as almost all Nissan's are. I am going to get the crankshaft cryo'd just as a precaution. I have a 93 and a 97 block.. I noticed that both are girdle motors.. and they look almost identical. Basically.. I'm looking for info on the engine's mechanical flaws, and what has to be done to fix them. I plan on putting forged pistons and rods in the motor also, so if anyone can point me in the right direction as far as the best brands.. I'd appreciate that as well. I am going to run a GT35/40R Garrett turbo. This is a new GT Series turbocharger that has much newer wheel designs. The compressor map for the GT40 compressor wheel looks like it will rock on this engine! This turbo also made 504whp on a 2 liter 3S-GTE at 25psi! Anyways.. if you guys want to check out my site.. it's www.forcedinductionracing.com . I'd appreciate any info you can provide.. and dyno sheets if you have them. Thanks!
