View Full Version : Battery light came on
Was doing some sliding in the parking lot, and my battery light came on!
Car still starts right up with no problem.
I pulled off the terminals and cleaned the posts and the terminals.
Any ideas on to why the battert light came on????
SEARCH FUNCTION IS NOT WORKING
Also, Realized my battery was not strapped down properly. fixing that now.

not good. get a multimeter and make sure the battery is charging. take it to vato zone and have them check for you. otherwise your alternator took a shit, or the plug that goes to it may be damaged.

This happened to me once when my alternator/water pump belt broke on me....

The plug from the posotive terminal to the alt?????
I hooked up my battery charger to the battery and right away it was showing it had a 100% full charge...
Im going to take the car to my friends house to check how many volts the Alt is putting out.

oh and if it says right away that its a 12v charge thats not a good enough test.
just cause your alt will give you a 12v charge, its not keeping up with the amps...

Have u check the 75a fuse?
could be ur alternator
do the alternator check
turn the car on and disconnect the batt, if the car turns off then its ur alternator
I had the altenator tested and its putting out to much volts! It was putting out like 15.4 volts. The voltage regulator thats built into the altenator is going out.
