Just got wind of this and thought I would post it here. Not a bad place to have a brand new clean slate F1 track and a World Class racing venue. This is one of the coolest cities in Texas. IMO

Seriously, this is great news! I grew up in Austin and I only live less than 3 hours away. My family still lives down there! I can't wait to see where they're gonna put the new track!

everyone on the f1 forums hopes that Tilke doesnt design this one, otherwise we will have another borring track like bahrain, valencia, dubai etc.. and those tracks are borring as hell.

kinda hate how US grand prixs dont have much history behind them like the tracks at monaco, spa, monza etc.. US grand prix was always at different places.

well they took canada off the schedule but i think its suppose to come back?

ok, so seriously, they are planing to build a whole new track to host US grand prix, since they are taking this investment, please remove F1 from speed tv broadcast and move it to national tv , or make Speed's broadcast better.. Just give us BBC feed since its a full program with pre-race show and more in depth.

This will need better advertising/marketing if they dont want this to flop over.

hypertek isnt there a speed 2 coming soon, there a thread on here somewhere about it. BBC feed is a must it the only one i watch

Honestly though Austin Texas does actually have pretty decent weather. Its also a one of the coolest cities in Texas. With a great music scene. The money was there the location was there.
Be glad Eccelstone actually agreed to and signed a ten year deal for it. Getting him to commit to any race in the U.S. has been like pulling teeth of late.
