alright so the other day, My car cut out mid drift. Just stopped, no warning no nothing.

We tried to get the car started, but it just would not go no matter what we did.

Today, we found a partial answer to the problem. If we disconnected the injectors, the car would run and then die as soon as the fuel in the cylinders would run out (pretty quick). We pulled the spark plugs, and sure enough, they were wet with fuel. (bought new ones, but did not install yet).

I put out some calls to local shops and it sounds like it is probably the pump or more likely the fuel pressure regulator. I borrowed a Fuel Pressure Gauge from a local shop and hooked it up to the inlet side (going to injectors) from the regulator.

It read 48-50 psi.

does anyone know what is supposed to be? I cant seem to find a solid answer from searching. Or maybe there is something else wrong?

Thanks guys!

i had the same problem. i would check the ignition system, new cables, rotor and cap. or the coil. it turned out that my coil gave out and was not producing enough spark to the spark plugs, so all they did was get soaked with gas cus of poor spark, the car wouldnt even turn on. but once i changed the coil my 13 turned on right away. so happy : ) i hope this is your same problem. you can get just about any coil from a ka in the junk yard i got mine from a stanza ka24e and i have the s13 hatch ka24de and it worked just fine good luck with it! keep it real keep it KA

If i'm not mistaken your fuel pressure should only be around 38 psi.

thats what I was told by a local mechanic.

The thing that sucks is that I bought this car about a week before this happened.

Luckily the guy I bought it from is sending me a good fuel pressure regulator and a set of injectors for free just in case

hopefully that does it we will see
