Here is the deal my uncle is a painter and has restored many of hot rods as well as painted them. He has kindly offered me the chance at his expert hands. He has offered to do body work, prime, and paint my car for free. Only thing I have to do of course is buy the primer and paint. Here is what I am asking. What are some colors that would look good with Motegi MR7 Gunmetal rims. I have some colors sorta in mind but am looking to see what are some colors you all think would look good on a car. Thanks for your opinions.

Dualy noted not really what I am looking for. Black and white are hard to keep clean not that it matters at all. But looking for something different but not WILD. But thanks for you opinion I will think about it.

Nissan240SX,
Any good autocolor shop should have paint books with chip samples... when I've repainted my car I've just gone through those books until I've found something I liked. The last car I painted went to the somewhat popular Dodge Viper GTS Blue Pearlcoat (PBE) That paint is absolutely stunning! As of now I am rocking factory Silver Moss (KR5) on my stock 98 SE. Looks great! Plus as a bonus your car is the same color as dirt so you can delay about a month between washings and still look okay! :D
Good luck man!

why dont you go "color code" shopping.. depending where you live, just go to dealerships of all different kinds of makes.. that way you get to see it in person. if you see a color you like, just open up the door and write down the color code.. that what my friend did with his FC

I like the way a white car looks at night, thats when I prowl the streets.
I like the skyline blue look, but its gettin more and more common.
If your interested in OEM colors these are some choices http://www.courtesyparts.com/paint/240sx.html
Also an amazing car that I saw in dallas was a zenki with Audi Nour(something) BLue paint - lighter blue
But for your wheel choice id go with a nice clean, metalic midnight blue.

I think white really brings out the color of the lamps (red tails and orange turn signals). It's also safer because you can be easier seen at night (as opposed to black) and it wont absorb as much heat from direct sunlight. It's also not an attention whore color for thieves, racers, and cops, as caribbean/skyline/civicSI blue or ITR yellow is. If not white, I recommend a pretty basic color, because any basic color would look nice if the paint job is very glossy and you slap a couple clear coats on it.
In short, I recommend white.
EDIT: If you like the attention and like the show car kind of attention, then by all means, disregard my boring and practical opinion.

Don't get me wrong I do like to show my car and get the woos and haaas but its also a Track and Drag strip car. Yes I want an awesome paint job, the reason I am not to partial to white is there are a lot of white vehicles around my area. For reasons that have been mentioned. But anyways keep the ideas coming and take a look at the ones that I suggested and tell me what you think.

OK a friend of mine had the photoshop program so I decided to install it on my computer and start to paint the car in different colors. I have done yellow (not bad at all) Orange ( looks like a major orange) And painted it Jayhawk Blue (University of Kansas Blue) doesn't look bad at all.

If it's '89 or '90, I'd suggest a nice rish copper color. Like the Integra in some Apexi ads...that color.
If not that, definitely a deep rich blue color or a dark red (like that of the newer Mustangs). Possibly even a bright blue (Viperesque)...that might look kinda cool on a 240. And if it's a hatch, some of the not-so-bright kin might mistake it for a Viper, too
How about Tru Blue Pearl? One of my older cars was that color...loved it!
+ That BMW Night Blue is downright sexy!!!!!!!

I read a nationwide study on what color of cars get pulled over most often...
First was black, then red, then yellow, then other bright colors. At the bottom were browns and sands, dark blue, silver, and white.

That is something to think about really have no desires to be pulled over for no reason or followed just because. I am young I already get enough of the harrassment issues.

If it's a hatch, I say the Velvet Blue from that bimmer site with a black roof. Or, if you want bright, go for the Pheonix yellow.
